I have a source inside MU that has confirmed he has been kickoff the team.   He moved out yesterday, and will not be back.

Not surprised.  Too bad, though.

Eh....maybe the people who told me that Todd was doing well this summer in the classroom were wrong.  (First summer session ends today.)

That would suck if true.

Blackhat

That would suck.

Not ineligible??   Just kicked off?

Pretty sad day.  MU's best looking freshman since Dominic James.  Major upside.  Appeared to be taking to Buzz's coaching - i.e.- press conference following Murray State game. Pretty sure neither Buzz or Todd wanted this outcome.

Either way it hurts the team. One has to lower expectations if he does not come back. I was expecting a nice season from him.

Why is everyone saying this is so sad when we don't know who the "Source" is?

nyg

If true, can't a student athlete be academically suspended for like a semester and then return to the team once grades are up.  Happens at all the other schools.  Why kick him out?  maybe he had more than one chance.

Sucks, because he has the bigtime b-ball skills.

Maybe it's not solely a result of academics.

Look the kid went to what? 4 high schools in 4 years? He was given the world at this school, these guys get a free ride, access to great facilities, and great academic support. If he failed in his environment it is all on him. We have Lockett, we have TJ, we have Van. Buzz likes guys that work hard, its great that Todd did it on the floor. He should have done it in the classroom as well

I'd like to speculate that we're getting a 2 guard commitment in the near future..  My source is my Tom Crean bobblehead on my desk here at work.

It's Friday...

If it happens, it'll be announced this afternoon.

Kendrick Nunn please!

If this is true, thanks for hitting that sick floater in Madison Todd!

I'd also like to know what the reasoning was.

+1 His Madison game made it all worthwhile.

When I heard from other people's "sources" that Mayo was doing well academically this summer and then heard from someone else's "sources" that Mayo is gone, it's natural to wonder whether something other than academics played a role in his (rumored) dismissal. Don't you think?

Goose

His potential upside is quite high and very sad to see him leave. IMO he was as talented of freshman as we have had in awhile and was looking forward to watching him continue to improve.

Just remember, Marquette cannot *say* it is academics because they are not allowed to comment on a student's academic record.  So despite what anyone says officially, it is likely not more than that.

Todd had a hill to climb this summer - but I had heard things about his academic background that suggested that some of these struggles were inevitable.  The first summer session ends today and it apparently didn't go as well as we were hoping.  It's sad, not just because of the impact it has on the basketball court, but because you want people to succeed in general.

No honestly I think the person I talked to was simply wrong...or I misinterpreted what they were saying to me.
