While not technically MU related, it is VERY much related to the Big East, so I put it in Hangin' at the Al

No more AQ, which hurts the BE from a football perspective at least.

A 4-team playoff is better than the current system but an 8-team playoff would have been better.

Yeah, since there are always hot debates about how the #7 BCS team should have been National Champion!

It will grow.  The $$ is going to be too good for it not to.

How many other sports ONLY have a Final Four?

Is it really that much of a stretch? The #6 team in the BCS in 2009 was undefeated going into the bowl season. Honestly, I think a 12-team playoff with byes for the top-4 is the way to go, simply because once you get to team #13, you're pretty much guaranteed 3-loss teams or more and no whining.

I think the conference playoff games of the Big 10, Big 12, SEC, PAC 10 and maybe the ACC are supposed to the de facto 1st round games of a "tournament".

It is conceivable a 1 loss SEC team will still make it over another conference champ with a weak non conference schedule. But this is major improvement.  The bowl system is a bunch of exhibition games except for the title game.   This will make for huge TV after the regular season.
