i hope this begins to convert some of the nonbelievers of buzzdom into buzzmania supporters.  to steal a player from indianaville is a  major coup.  wonder how patient jp will be with his front row seat??

Dr. Blackheart

Another good get by the Buzzman.  I have never seen a coach so good at not only balancing recruiting classes, but is so adept at balancing classes with upperclass experience when holes arise. Another instance of balance is if Juan redshirts, dropping him down a year.

Sweet!  If you look at actual news, this is one of the best offseasons I can remember.  Great signings, a great hire, great scheduling.  Very exciting stuff happening.

And significant amounts of gossip and speculation!
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Why would Juan and/or Buzz want to do that?

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Juan just had shoulder surgery, I've heard the rehab is usually between 6-8 months. That could have him available as soon as December, in which case he'll probably play, or could have him out until February, in which case it may not be worth burning a year to play 8-12 games like Junior did.

tower912

BTW, how tall is he?   I've seen 6'6-6'9.    Of course, after what just happened with Crowder, McKay is probably 6'4 1/2.

Indian Hills CC roster had him listed at 6'8", but the team picture shows him as the second tallest guy on the team at the same height as a guy (#50) whose listed at 6'9" and just shorter than a guy (standing next to Jameel) listed as a 6'10" center.  Jameel is number 35.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

don't know what the sentiment is, but juan is a great guy and all. he showed a lot of bench enthusiasm and support, but did not live up to my expectations skill-wise.  i hope he gains confidence and improves.  i like his size and mobility

77ncaachamps

From his interview, he appears to be a well-balanced kid who is driven and know how to express his thoughts clearly.

A plus in my book.

Quotejsglow, warriorchick jr. and I went Sobelman's today and saw about six members of the basketball team (including DJO) having lunch with Jameel.  At least I think it was him.  Height was right, and he had his suitcase with him as if he was on his way back out of town.

Looks like everyone was bonding quite nicely.

I posted this on the visit thread before I noticed this one.  We must have seen Jameel right after the announcement.  No wonder everyone at the table looked so happy!
Have some patience, FFS.

The guys noticed warriorchick's 'Road to the Final Four' shirt that had only been given out in Louisville and Phoenix.  Ironically, warriorchick jr. and I had attended the tournament bringing home T-shirts to family members that couldn't make it.

All right Warriorchick, what did you do to get him to sign? Was it a big smile or just that Nashville charm? Or did your group pick his check up?

Either way, nice going!!!!!!!!!!

Well, if you are giving me credit, I will take it!

Actually, it was about 1:00, so it was after the official announcement. And I would have totally picked up the check, but you know, NCAA rules....

I did find it a little amusing to see the guys pull out seven different debit cards when the check came and make the poor Sobelman's server sort it all out.  Even Jameel had to buy his own burger...couldn't DJO have treated him?  He will have a job soon enough.
Have some patience, FFS.

Indian Hills has such an offensive mascot / logo (except for the baseball team).  Warriors?  What kind of crap is that in 2012?  Look at center court!  There are feathers coming off the guy's head for crying out loud.

Besides a lot of missed time due to his recovery this season making this a limited season for him, Juan would be a junior with eligibility (if he doesn't redshirt) with McKay and with Jwilson, Gardner, and Otule as seniors...and Steve Taylor as a sophomore two seasons from now....all getting time ahead of him on the backline most likely.  So he would basically not see much playing time until his senior year if he doesn't redshirt, wasting two years.  With a redshirt, on the other hand, Buzz gets two juniors in Taylor and Juan, and McKee as a senior on the front line.

Some like the name Milwaukee's best which is pretty cool, but I'm not so sure it flows that well. Any more ideas for this? We do have an entire year. I like The Warrior Trinity, The Three Milwauketeers, or The Brew City Trio. Maybe those are dumb but just throwing them out there. Thoughts?

I just had to laugh at The Three Milwauketeers given that you thought that Milwaukee's Best didn't flow that well.

Somebody else suggested the Wis Kids, that flows well.

So you can see a tv announcer sayin the Milwaukees best is on the court?

I like Wis kids and the trinity but thats just personal opinion. I'm just happy we have tje talent to think of a nickname for these guys.

Sharpie

I like milwaukees best for this group. I also don't mind a few milwaukees best as that is what I started drinking on. But, milwaukees best isn't usually synonymous with elite, top of the line, or great as I see this bunch as being. I don't want to get ahead of myself as they may never be any of those things. Although Id put my money on this class.

Trinity reminds me of the bar. And wis kids reminds me of some 12 year old kids from
Up north going to a Bucky bball camp and that is their team name for camp. No thanks.

Still plenty of time to think of something clever.

How 'bout somethin' exclusive like, "NCAA Champs"?
