Today it is in 60's and blowing stink out of the south.  We had a hard frost two nights ago. 50's rest of the time

Walleyes in 20-30 feet of water. WAter has been 52 and today 56. Need to find water with some current.

Crappies are world class.

Trolled Chain O Lakes for Musky on Sunday using 10-12" suckers.  Had one big bite but couldn't land it.  Temps were mid 40's in the current but still low to mid 50's on the northern lakes that muskies frequent.  Hoping for a cold snap this week so the feedbags are on before heading to Maui.

Kids are more excited to go fishing in Maui then they are for the basketball games.  I think I've taught them well, but priorities seem to be misplaced slightly.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Since I see you're out on the ice... the ice fishing house business has evolved from what my FIL started.

My boy Drew Magary does it again with this spot-on analysis of ice fishing:

Have some patience, FFS.

Gonna head to the pond for some ice-out bass/bluegill fishing this afternoon.  Any recommendations on lures?

Had a guide this week out of Bradenton Beach. Billy Clyde, cohost of Fishing the Flats tv show.

Billy was outstanding. Tons of snook, redfish, and sea trout.

I'd like to do a Canadian fishing trip this summer, but for the life of me, I cannot remember the names of any of the places in SW Ontario that my mother & step-father took me to when in my early teens.  All I recall is that we always crossed at I-Falls and went through/near Thunder Bay.

Anyone have any recommendations?  It would be a couple buddies and our kids (7-10 y/o)... preferably someplace I could tow my newly tricked out F&S boat.  Doesn't have to be fancy... we're likely leaving the wives at home.

Always have gone to cedar point lodge on Eagle Lake in Ontario.   Great fishing and great Canada experience.

Fished Lake Winnibigosh in Minnesota recently.   Tons of good sized perch(some trophy walleye too) although it is hard to navigate the lake at this point.

I can vouch for Cedar Point Lodge too.  It's a huge lake that you can get lost on. Also, dangerous with many rocks.  Pat Hron, the owner keeps a very clean camp. Gordy is a great guide.

Mylie's place on LOW is another good one.  Again big water.  Have a good gps for both Eagle and LOW

My fav so far is Cedar Lake.  It's about 30 min past Eagle.  It's large, but easy to navigate.  Connects to several other lakes.  Very good musky lake.  Also good for walleyes, SMB, and large Crappies.  Looking forward to going back again.  Check out either Cedar Lake Camp or Clarks Northern Lights.

If you want to go further and fly, I've been to Kississing Lake Lodge out of Flin Flon. Best to pick up a flight out of Winnepeg. Kississing has trophy northern, lakers, and walleye.  You can do day trip fly-ins to lakes where you will be amazed at the fishing.  A bit spendier, but fun.
