This would be 3-for-3. I already consider Uthoff a member of MU.

Huh?  Did I miss something over the weekend besides Lockett?

Any way we can get Enlund to do a write-up about Jabari Parker and MU?

strotty

Was only joking about Enlund's write-ups on Durley and Lockett days before they left/committed. I don't know anything re: Uthoff's recruitment. Only in jest. Sorry.

Uthoff to visit MU?

Former University of Wisconsin forward Jarrod Uthoff may be visiting Marquette sometime this week.

Interesting read, thanks for the post IC!

I know there are mixed feelings on this guy, but I'd love to see him as a Golden Eagle down the road!

Tugg Speedman

Is Uthoff really interested in MU?  Or is he hoping to work badger nation into a big enough frenzy about him coming here that they chose the lesser evil and let him go to Iowa?

warthog-driver

I don't think Ryan would give a sh1t but the fan base would be verklempt

strotty

There's interest. Uthoff wouldn't care enough to take a visit just to piss Bo and co. off.

Congratulations Strotty, you've become an authority.  As a consequence, your ability to talk tongue in cheek may be forever lost.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I'm sure there's probably interest as well. However, I think both Buzz and Uthoff would be more than happy to do a little dance if it allows the whole thing to hang around a little longer and embarrass Bo just a little more.

Buzz doesn't care about embarrassing Bo.  In fact, I am pretty sure that if there wasn't serious interest that he wouldn't be taking the visit because he respects Bo.

Enlund makes it sound in his story as if Lockett playing next season is not as done of a deal as a lot of people on this board make it out to be...

GGGG

All he did was state that the NCAA must approve a waiver.  Which is a fact.  However since ASU isn't contesting anything, and since Lockett graduated, it is a simple formality in my opinion.

I think there is 99.9% chance that Lockett gets approved to play next year. However, it is not a done deal until acutally approved.  Also, you have factor in his mother's health. He may not want to play next year, if his mother's health takes a turn for the worse.

+1.  Exactly.  Don't people think enough of Buzz other than a little weasel who would like nothing more than to 'stick it to Bo'?  Ridiculous.   If Buzz thinks that Uthoff can contribute to this team in the future, he will want/get him here.  To suggest that Buzz would take a player solely(or otherwise) to spite another coach/team is so short sighted and just dumb.

Sign a player who can't play? No. Recruit a (seemingly good) player involved in this thing who is interested that will potentially continue to shine an in-state rival in a bad light? Absolutely.

The competition for good players is obviously fierce, and if you think these coaches won't do whatever they think might give them a advantage over their closest competitors now or down the road, you're fooling yourself. Do I think this was a priority for Buzz? No, but I also suspect there is no real downside to having the kid in for a look even if he wasn't convinced he would be a great fit, given the coverage this received, and now continues to receive. How many kids come in for visits that the JS doesn't even mention? Yet, this one was. Why is that?

If you can use jis situation to create enough doubt in just one good players mind Down the road and it helps you get him, it would have been worth it.

All of that said...I believe he is visiting because buzz thinks he can play.

Lockett will play next year. I can't think of any scenario where he would have agreed to come to Marquette without knowing 100 percent he was playing next year. Just my $0.02.

Clam Crowder

I would definitely take this guy, and I don't think it should be that big of an issue for a guy from another conference to transfer to MU. Especially such a low profile guy. If Jordan Taylor decided to visit MU after transferring well yeah that should cause some drama, but a guy that didn't even play?? No Big Deal.
