I see them as different players. MU needs to replace scorers in the half court and Trent fits that bill.  MU's scorers will be TL, Mayo, Gardner and Jwilson. TL is also a very good defensive rebounder (Jae).  He also has a post up game. Trent's turnovers were higher as he also had to play PG after ASU's PG left the team.  In terms of shooters against the zone, MU has TL and Jake now.

Vander is awesome in transition and on the ball. Tough on the offensive boards in the role he plays within the seams. His athleticism is a tough match up. MU had one of the best teams in the country on the run last year and that will be TL's biggest adjustment.

One thing for sure, no matter what transpires, Buzz will have his 5th very different team style of play. Maybe a bit better in the half court and a bit slower in transition.

-Vander had 4.5 rpg....better than everyone on the team but Gardner and Jae.  Yes, better than Jamil and at least 1.0 rpg better than any other guard on the team.

Nice job on the off boards (though not quite as good as Jamil) solid on def. Vander rebounded the ball better than all the players shorter than him, this is true.  Besides being true, necessary and in line w/his role on last year's team.

I think we'll still be able to fly.  JC and Van can both push the ball.  JWil can explode down the court.  I expect TL to love the chance to spread his wings outside the half court as well.

Great news!  Going to be a great addition.

- Vander didn't shoot 25% from the field.  That's ridiculous.
- Implying that Vander turned it over almost as often as Junior is the same as saying DJO had as many turnovers as Vander.  Silly.
- Lockett turned the ball over with more frequency than Blue last season.
- Vander's 43% eFG & 23% TO rate both have plenty of room for improvement... you'll see it this season.
- Don't forget Van also drew contact and got to the line.  He was also our second best assist man.

-Not even close to 25 percent. He shot just over 41%.
-Vander turned it over just over 2 times per game. Not good but not terrible.
-Both Lockett and Vander turned the ball over about the same amount per 40 minutes.
-Yep.
-And finished once he got there. And yep, very underrated passer.
