Really....  Or it might mean redshirt.

Or it might be that Duane Wilson needs a spot??

Redshirt was my first thought, but that takes up a scholly.  Buzz didn't give any details as to what he was considering for Durley.

I guess it depends on what he means by "the situation has changed."  Does he mean the scholarship situation?  Or the situation that we wouldn't need Durley to back up Davante in 2013-14 since Otule would be around for another year?

We have plenty of time to worry about that.  Minnesota for instance needs to find a spot this fall for Mbakwe's sixth year.

Derrick Wilson is going to be good

For some reason I think Juan Anderson will transfer. Just seems like a high potential player that will never score for us because of his place in the system but could be used as a scorer at a smaller bball program.

How can you say that?!? He barely scored any points as a true freshman! Everyone knows that players who don't play and shoot often as freshman never turn out to be any good! Actually, he should redshirt and then he'd obviously reemerge as John Wall 2.0 in 2013-14.

In all honesty, I think most of the team will follow Buzz to SMU.

I think Durley has to come into the program... DG and CO will both effectively be juniors, realistically you don't expect anything out of any new big man until they're juniors, especially someone as raw as Durley. You could hope to land someone in 2013, but that's a crapshoot at best and there aren't any scholies available. He's not going to develop at a JUCO/Prep that much and you need him in 2014 to be providing major minutes. There's no way we'd get a starting Freshman 5 in 2014. Jahil Okafor plays with Ferrari unfortunately, not Mac Irvin, which would be our best bet.

Maybe he redshirts to give him 3 quality years of playing (2014-2016), 2013 being his first year of getting minutes.

I guess this is what fan forums are for, but there is just zero reason to believe Juan Anderson is even remotely close to transferring. He is very happy at Marquette, in Milwaukee and the role he played last year. C'mon, people.

Derrick Wilson has a long way to go to play at the level we are striving to hit. Decent, role player on good team but do not think he can be a contributor in our program down the road. We need speed and athleticism at the point down the road and the new DWilson is just that.

Derrick Wilson needs to not show the ball to every player that defends him - which he should know regardless of being a freshman - and he needs some confidence - something that IS relative to being a freshman.

Understood.  But even athletic point guards struggle at the BE level as freshman.  For instance, look at Peyton Siva.  Siva was the #7 PG in the country coming out of high school according to Scout...and he played 11 mpg and scored 3.9 ppg.  Duane Wilson is considered the #22 PG in the country at this point.  Do we honestly think he will be able to step right in?

We are going to need Derrick Wilson running the point by 2013.

I didn't vote, as it wasn't clear whether you meant a transfer out or a transfer in.  I don't expect either, but the possibility exists for a transfer in as mentioned in previous posts.
watching DW warm up in Phoenix showed his nice j from the elbow.  He also surprised me with some range.  Not as deadly as Crowder, but I'd rather have him shooting than VB right now.

bilsu

I like Derrick Wilson. He needs to learn not to use his hands on defense. The way he played against Wisconsin when Cadougan was suspended should have everyone here giving him a pass. I think he is better than you are giving him credit for.

MerrittsMustache

Look up "Derrick Wilson Hotchkiss" and you'll see some videos of a player who can score the basketball. He didn't have a particularly good outside shot but he definitely has some offensive skills driving to the basket.

Yes.  I bet Juan Anderson transfers to Sacramento State or something.

Juan, if you read this...don't listen to this sh!t. You're a very talented player, and one that is going to make a HUGE impact on MU basketball in the next three years. Keep your head up, and keep workin'. Your time will come.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

brewcity77

I don't expect one. If we see one because of PT specifically, possibly Mellow as he seems to have plenty of raw talent but hasn't had much of a chance. However that doesn't include transfers for other reasons, which I wouldn't even try to predict.

Otule's Glass Eye

hopefully Jamail Jones is ok in his role. Voted no, cuz I dont WANT anyone to go, but if someone were to leave, I think it would be Jones.

Golden Avalanche

It's good we can move on from the fact that our coach hates our Administration into more productive conversation like.........which players need to get the unnatural carnal knowledge out.

Durley, too?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

A transfer in means a transfer out, so its transfer out only or transfer in and transfer out.
