MU news, notes- Rosiak, JS

With Randy Wittman having signed a multi-year deal to coach the Minnesota Timberwolves late last month, there already are rumblings that he could be interested in adding current MU assistant Jerry Sichting to his staff.

Sichting, who joined coach Tom Crean's staff last summer, has worked with Wittman in the past and prior to coming to MU spent 10 years with Minnesota in two different roles - including the final nine as an assistant coach.

"You don't want to lose somebody the quality of Jerry Sichting," said Crean. "But hey, either way we've got a lifelong friendship and if he does take another job it's been great to have him. It's just a matter of time before he becomes a head coach at the pro or college level."

One logical candidate to replace Sichting should he leave would be Tim Buckley, a former Crean assistant who returned to the program a few weeks back in the role of director of basketball operations.

Williams garners invite:
Guard Nick Williams, a member of MU's 2008-'09 recruiting class from LeFlore, Ala., will take part in the 14th annual National Basketball Players Association Top 100 Camp at the University of Virginia from June 19-24.

In addition to games, players attending the camp receive 1-on-1 coaching and instruction from former and current NBA players and participate in group discussions and classes on a variety of topics.

Last year's attendees included Ohio State's Greg Oden and Mike Conley Jr., Texas' Kevin Durant, Arizona's Chase Budinger and North Carolina's Wayne Ellington.

James update:
Guard Dominic James, who participated in the NBA pre-draft camp in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. last week, will work out for the Houston Rockets in Orlando on Tuesday.

James also has workouts upcoming with the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets.

'Rab' recognized:
Crean's right-hand man, Jason Rabedeaux, was named one of college basketball's top 25 assistant coaches on Monday by Rivals.com. The decision was based on recruiting ability and knowledge of the game, as evaluated by the web site's staff.

Rabedeaux, a native of Eau Claire, is entering his fourth season
