I hate to say it but Bobby V has us pegged right on.  We do have those bad stretches...  And Crowder helps mask them

BenCat12

WOW!  Hardly even acknowledging MU, all hinting that they think Florida will win.....Bulletin board!!!!!
Basically said Crowder covers up how inept MU is as a team.

Could Fox be more of a SEC homer?  It was like listening to Dukie V talk about Duke...what a joke..

Prove'em wrong boys!!!

FL has also looked dynamite in its first two games.  These guys can't watch every game obviously and make as many assumptions about FL as they do about us.  FL would be a hot pick going up against anyone right now I think.

Especially with a coach who has the 4th best NCAA winning percentage of active coaches, has won 2 National Titles, been to 3 Final Fours, and took his team to the Elite Eight last year. Marquette is going to have to bring their A game to get a victory.

BCHoopster

Two things have to happen, MU has to play well the whole game, no lulls, and Florida has to off shooting the 3's, victory then.  Florida barely has an inside game.  Have to pressure the point guard of theres, he is tiny but quick.  I see Dwill in there a lot, no way is JC quick enough

TJ

No doubt it will be a tough game.  I'm hoping for the best, but this one is no gimme.

huh? DWill quicker than Junior? i think that's backwards...

I find it funny that Marquette still gets no respect with these analysts.  It's always what Marquette has to do to win, not the other way around.

I think it has to so with the fact that Marquette is not always pretty to watch. We don't have a complete inside-outside game this year. We're relatively small. We don't have any McDonald's All-Americans. When Gardner was out, we didn't have a consistent 3rd scorer on the team. I love this team and will always root for Marquette, but I can understand why some
"experts" may not be enamored with us, out side of our "toughness."

That strikes me as interesting.

Marquette was hands down the best offense in the Big East this season. Their conference ranks were ridiculous. I think as fans we amplify bad stretches but I've never had a neutral tell me this season that MU goes cold far too often to win a game.

Calling MU an "ordinary" team that doesn't have the weapons that Florida has should be enough to put them in the "us against the world" mode all the people around here like.

San Diego Warrior

I think the going cold was an early season problem with this team (outside of the terrible Louisville game).  Most of Marquette's losses came immediately after the loss of CO, and the loss of DG.

And because we played so poorly in the BigEAST tournament, they assume that game was a good representative of this team.

I think the problem is we are still so reliant on our transition game; if we didn't have the opportunity to transition, Saturday would have been an ugly loss.  Also, saying Crowder just masks our deficiencies is furthering the argument that he is in the conversation for NPOY if we have so many deficiencies but are still a borderline top 10 caliber team.

MUFC9295

This is who Marquette will be until we advance to the title game. We would be hearing the same if we were playing Mizzou.  Time for the Warriors to take the next step!

Well, we are the lower seed... no, wait a minute, do you think they know that MU is the #3 seed?

Well, I guess that they're going by the fact that the SEC has always been the superior basketball conference to the Big East... no, wait a minute....................
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

If we don't turn the ball over and rebound and defend the 3 well.......we win.

This is the key I think for MU.

KenoshaWarrior

Who cares!!!!  So what, somebody had an opinion and they stated it.  The expert opinion in no way effects the game.  Now if the "experts" analysis added an extra 10 points than they have an effect but until that happens they dont have ANY effect

Do you defend the 3 well?  You better.

Albert...let the players do the talking. You lost to Rutgers this year. You can lose to absolutely ANYONE if you can lose to Rutgers. Let's hope you guys show up. End of story. Don't know why you're still posting.

This is a message forum?  That's what you do, you post.  Of course the players will do the talking.  You lost to Ole Miss LSU.  Ole Miss. LSU. You beat Norfolk State by 2 points.   The players will decide but we feel very good.  We are just a lowly 7 seed that the big 3 seed should have no problem handling.  How will we ever compete against the #2 Big East squad and the 3 seed in the bracket.

I hope we can stay within 20 of you guys.   ::)

Excuse me.  You lost to LSU.  I will correct the other statement.  Almost as bad.  LSU is not very good
