Untucked

Did anyone go to the open house at the Bradley Center last night? Is it worth going to?
Q: What's the difference between Bo Ryan and God?
A: God doesn't think he's Bo Ryan!!

I went.  I would say that it wasn't worthwhile--the information they give to you is the same as what you can find on the web site.  The reps were very nice, but they can't tell you what seats will be available--only that your point total should qualify for a certain area because the "median point total for that section is xyz", which is the same info that is on the web site.

Found here:  http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/marq/genrel/auto_pdf/BradleyCenterAveragePoints.pdf

One thing I learned that I had not known before--I went with my brother, who is a full professor at MU and has been a season ticket holder since 1978.  His seats are "grandfathered."  He'd like to up grade to an aisle, but if he does that he loses his grandfather status and joins the point system merry-go-round.  I wonder how many seats have this "grandfather" status.  If anyone knows, please share.  The young woman helping us did not know.

Huh .. I hadn't heard about the "grandfather" status.  I also wonder how many seats that eats up.

It's frustrating, in that adding a decade or two to your point total may mean you're still in a corner unless you total some 5-figure donations along the way.

I'm concerned that the $4 gas is going to make my frequent Chicago to Milwaukee trips a personal economic disaster. It might be time to trade in the old Volvo for a Prius.

Ran into a guy I know from the MU ticket office at the Bucks reseating session, of all places.  He explained to me that the "grandfathered" seats are down to about 20 accounts, and he estimates only about 60 seats.  You have to either be a current MU employee, or retired from MU to hold such seats.  So, not nearly as bad as I would have guessed.
