You can't come beneath the free throw shooter before it touches the rim. The foul vs. the out of bounds is kind of a different argument, the fact they still called it out on UNCA is inexcusable.

I've never heard that before.  Any player (except shooter) is free to enter lane as soon as ball leaves the shooter's hand, no?

I think that's the NBA rule, but im not sure though, the free throw line was the explanation I heard, from Fraschilla I think it was.
