Do we have limits on traffic/data from our host, or are one of our admins hosting our site?

I'm just wondering when the muscoop breaking point is for traffic once we get to the National Championship game.

The server "max test" should be called the Indiana project.

If/when MU ever plays IU... this place will be put to the test.

If the servers last through that, then the mods are making too much money and spoiling us with too nice of equipment.

I'd be all for a voluntary secure way of donating on this site. I'd throw in a few bucks every now and then.

How can rocky afford to both prop up this site and prop up his wife's crack habit?  He's really an amazing guy!

+1...  but if i'm going to be a financial backer, does that give me ability to vote on bans?

How about, for every "^insert current player here^ SUCKS" topic, you are required to donate before starting the topic....that way some of the idiots on this board can pay for their stupidity...literally

We could buy a new internet for that kind of money.

I'm just wondering when the muscoop breaking point is for traffic once we get to the National Championship game.

Theoretically we do have limits.  However, even in March (or busiest month) there would have to be 50 times more traffic to even get close to our data limits.  i.e.  The most we've had online this month so far is ~500 users in one 15-min interval, so data limits would support about ~25,000 - we've got a long way to go.

The bigger issue is processing power, after the optimizations late last season we've had no issues so far this year (knock on wood), but I suspect if we got over ~1200 users at once the server would start to bog down on the SQL queries.  Just a WAG though.

So, a NC game would likely start to bog the site down, but if you're patient (i.e. please don't keep refreshing incessantly!), eventually you should be able to still view posts.
