Looks like JFB has found a good spot under Thibs, and hopefully he shines while Deng is out. Game tonight vs Linsanity on ESPN.

Playing really good defense too.  Announcers are eating him up!

Did you catch the "Marquette on Marquette" comment when JFB and Novak were on each other?   ;D
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

muwarrior97

Can we call him back down to campus for a few weeks of ball....he sure would like nice in the tourney one more time

Great words of praise from the MVP:

Quote from: Derrick Rose"(Gibson and Butler) are the reason why we won, making huge plays, big shots, diving for the ball, saving balls," Rose said. "That's the reason why we won. I definitely take off my hat to both of them guys."

Loved seeing Butler out there.

Honestly, though, he did look tentative and lost at times. And he has to bulk up, but that's understood. Guys were blowing through his picks and it seemed offensively, his sold purpose (now, as a rookie) is to set picks and that's about it. But he shot gaps when he needed too and played good D.

Unbelievable seeing JFP guarding 'melo, though. Who'da thunk that three years ago?

Answer: Steve Novak, JFB and Wesley Matthews.
Question: What are the only three reasons to watch the NBA?

Funny, I answered Dwayne Wade, Doc Rivers and Lazard Heyward

So you're not a big Wade fan, eh?

I guess it depends on where you live, Niv.  In Chicago, our team has the best record in the league with the reigning MVP.  That's exciting enough.

On the other hand, if I lived in Milwaukee, the NBA would probably be very boring to me.

And if I lived in Israel...

"Impressed with the play of @mr_2eight1 last night and as of late. He gets after it and definitely helps this #Bulls team."

I'm a fan of Wade, but....I see/have seen enough of Wade. I know he's there. He's awesome. I don't like the Heat, James and the NBA in general. Guilt by association. Wade doesn't make me keep an NBA game on anymore. That ship sailed when the NBA/refs gave him 30 free throws a game against Dallas. He's still awesome and amazing, but, he doesn't keep me tuned in to game. Point being...even an MU alum can get tired of a fellow alum. Just being honest.

Plus...everyone loves the underdog. Novak, Matthews and Butler were underdogs. And Hayward's not in The League right now from as far as I know.

Fix your google machine.  Dude's on the Thunder and played as recently as their last game.

"Hayward was recalled from the Tulsa 66ers on Sunday, Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman reports.

Spin: His stint in the D-League lasted only two games, where he averaged 28 points and seven rebounds."

Sorry. The bombing down the street knocked out the internet for the last two days. Now I know.

And I add Lazar Hayward to my list, then.

Lazar was hurt....he went to the D-league for a few games to get his timing back

Yet more love for JFB from Aris Theotokatos of blecherreport.com...

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1102136-taj-gibson-jimmy-butler-help-chicago-bulls-escape-new-york-knicks

"Still, the biggest play of the game, the play that swung the momentum pendulum in the Bulls' favor for the rest of the game, took place a possession earlier.

This brings us to the unsung (now, ironically sung) hero of the game: rookie Jimmy Butler.  Following a Kyle Korver dive-to-the-floor steal, Butler finished his version of the one-man fast break by spinning in a difficult lay-up while being fouled, resulting in a deafening roar from the crowd, the loudest since a Scalabrine sighting right before halftime.

Butler only finished with eight points, two rebounds, and a plus/minus of minus-one, but he made all the hustle plays, got a hand on all the loose balls, and contested every movement made by Carmelo Anthony.

Seriously, even if Melo's chest extended a little too far out when he took a breath, Butler was there to make sure Anthony didn't get too comfortable."
