A team of extremes
« on: March 08, 2012, 08:05:18 PM »
When we are good, we are very good. When we are bad, we can be awful.

I love Marquette University and its basketball team as much as anyone here, which makes it especially hard to watch MU play as it did tonight against Louisville.

The first half was rough, the second half horrible.

Like other teams in the Big East, Louisville is every bit Marquette’s equal and, in some ways, much stronger.

I was hugely skeptical when several sportswriters predicted Marquette would win the Big East tournament and wrote that it is a dark horse to win the NCAA tournament.

Our team of extremes is much too inconsistent and unpredictable for anyone to seriously predict that it would win either tournament.
