He said he was a Buzz fan but didn't think they could win 6 in a row.  His co-host mentioned that he didn't include MU as an elite team yesterday and got lit up.

Both Scott and his co-host cite our lack of size as an issue, but state the high effort is endearing.

The co-host (Ryan Scilias?) seemed to take solace in the fact we got rolled last night as justification for his snub yesterday.  It must have become personal as he seemed genuinely effected by the reaction.

I wonder why he didn't think we could win 6 in a row?  We won 7 in a row earlier this BEast season.

My guess is that they were referring specifically to the NCAA tournament.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

In general I would agree with them.  With only 1 PF and no center's on the roster that play right now. We live and die with our outside shot.  Over 6 games you are going to have a bad shooting day and bigger teams can over come this with rebounding, I'm not sure we can.

Getting Big D back would help, but at this point he is going to be way behind the ball game after missing 6 weeks.  IE his quickness and conditioning are going to be poor.

Well stated. We need DG back.

Not a knock or anything, but which of Crowder or J Wilson do you consider a PF?  To my way of thinking, our current 9 guys are 4 small forwards (Crowder, J Wilson, Jones, Anderson), 3 SG (Blue, Mayo, DJO) and 2 PG (Cadougan, D Wilson).  I consider Gardner a C.  Not that what I consider is necessarily correct, but that's how I look at it.

As far as our chances in the NCAAs, we should win in the round of 64 and then we'll be playing top 25 quality teams after that so everything after that will be a dogfight.  Hard to win 5 dogfights in a row.

Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

Meh. Crowder is PF, just a smaller one. Much too thick for a SF.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Agreed, but an undersized one.

It depends a lot on match-ups. I'm confident we can make the Sweet 16 against most teams we would face. It's no lock, but we should be able to handle most 6, 11, and 14 seeds. Give us a bracket with Michigan State and Mizzou and I like our chances.

If we make the Final Four, again, it's match-ups, but there's no reason we can't win 2 games. A Final Four with Syracuse, Michigan, and Florida, why couldn't we cut down the nets? But if it's Kansas, Kentucky, and UNC, that might be tougher.

We're still a contender. Not a favorite, but a contender.

effected? how?

He said something to the effect that "you can still like a team and not think they will win the National Championship".  Then he made it sound like MU fans besieged him with nasty comments.  It sound like Ryan didn't think the punishment fit the purported crime.

I would LOVE for MU to win a national championship, but I don't see it happening this year.

It's not likely, but not impossible. I think our odds look brighter in 2014, but if Butler can reach back-to-back finals, we could cut down nets.

Well put.  The teams that give us trouble are long and tall.  For instance, Vanderbilt and Cincinnati gave us a ton of trouble.  I think UK and UNC could give us a ton of trouble.  But I think MSU and Kansas aren't bad match ups for us.  Even a team like Baylor could give us a bunch of trouble with their length.

BTW, Georgetown doesn't start a player under 6'5"

This isnt true at all. We are middle of the pack in 3PA. 30% of our FG attempts are 3-pt, also middle of the pack. MU is second in FG%, and second in FT attempts. Marquette attacks the rim, and when we take 3s, they're usually open looks.
