besides cover the MU beat for the Journal-Sentinel? I know we were spoiled with Rosiak and his frequent blog updates, near-weekly chats, Twitter, and video (!) entries. But the Mustache of Understanding's post-game articles are surprisingly short and include only a few quotes. Meanwhile his gameday articles are equally short and use stale quotes from the previous post-game (or even before that).

I don't mean to besmirch him and the ol' Chevron (http://www.cracked.com/blog/a-guide-to-the-modern-moustache/), I'm genuinely wondering if anyone knows what other obligations he has with the paper.

MauraDay

I really miss Rosiak. As someone out of town, I really enjoyed his post-game wrap-ups that gave more insight into the games, players, and coach. I don't even get online now to read Enlund's posts because they are pretty much things that I would know by watching the game itself. I am mostly saying that we were spoiled with TR, not trying to be hard on TE.

I e-mailed Rosiak after he was off the Marquette beat to thank him for his in-depth, personal coverage, and he sent me a really nice reply e-mail.

+1 I don't even click on the blog post links we post here now, especially since the JS has limited to 10 "views" a month...so I give them zero...

mu_hilltopper

BTW .. if you go into private browsing (Firefox) you can read any article after your 10 are up.

Indeed, though, I have no idea what guys like Enlund do the other 37 hours of the week.

lab_warrior

There is a major drop-off from Rosiak to Enlund.  Maybe chalk this up to declining nature of print journalism?  It's unfortunate.

After the UCLA expose, probably working on the Buzz and his integrity to UCLA rumors.

Nah, Enlund is like a wire service guy.  Just what the news is.  No insights. no nuthing.  Bring Todd back from being number 3 on the Brewer beat.

lab_warrior

Yeah, you're probably right, he kicks it more old-school than Rosiak.  Which is still a sad face, though.  Todd had many great tweets/blog posts.

mu_hilltopper

<spits out coffee> Todd's twitter feed was so filled with crap, it was unreadable.

The 10 views don't count for the blogs on their site for some reason.

Well then, I guess it's just a moral boycott.

Yes.  In the future please go through at least four months of posts before letting us know what you think.

Exactly.  Like Jason Wilde's twitter....too much irrelevant information with occasional sprinkles of something good.  But I get much better information here than I ever get from Enlund.  Pretty much a disappointment.

It's funny to think back three months ago when there was a sizeable number of people poking fun at those who were questioning Enlund's appointment and the anticipated work (or lack thereof) that he would provide. Some of them in this very thread have changed their tune. Not the first time.

mu_hilltopper

There's no doubt that Enlund's very first few entries were weak, then he started cranking out updates, and people changed their tune.   Admittedly, now he's kinda boring, and I agree with Sultan .. we get more information on the forums, and rarely any real new news/great analysis from the JS/Enlund.

Babybluejeans

Did Enlund read this thread? In the last two days he provided a pre-game update on Gardner, a solid post-game recap on the blog, and a blog post today with some interesting followup quotes and tidbits. Perhaps the ghost of Rosiak has found a comfortable home in Enlund's 'stache...

BCHoopster

What do you really want him to write about?  Instead of he sucks and Rosiak was so great, why do you write down what you are interested about?  Do you want him tell us that Gardner is
still out? Or how Chris is doing?  Or recruiting that is really on this board?  If you get Nunn, whom are you releasing?  I am sure Buzz would answer that?  This board and Buzz here rumors and they are on very quickly, probably before he sees them.  How much digging do you want?  Like do you really think Crowder and DJO are going to graduate?  Does that really matter to a fan or just picking up more dirt.  Those 2 players may not graduate, but if they are in the NBA next year they will be making a minimum of $476,000, how many graduates are in that income level?  They can always graduate later, so what do you want him to talk about?

It's fucking 140 characters. If it takes you that long to process crap then get off the medium. I mean how long does it take one to read a tweet on their phone - 4 seconds? Come on guys, complaining their is too much crap you don't like is like complaining when the stripper does the walk around for tips, just expect it and be happy your are seeing some tits.
But I like to throw handfuls...

You asked the question...he gave you the answers...and you knock the answers and in the process show why Enlund is useless.

Or I just follow other sources.  For instance, Packer reporter Jason Wilde has too much crap about his daughters.  Honestly, I don't give a crap about his daughters.  So I follow Tom Silverstein instead, who tweets regularly about Packer info and rarely strays from the topic.

Or to use your analogy, I don't have to worry about a stripper strutting around for tips, when I can get the tits for free.
