Can we talk basketball today?
« on: November 17, 2006, 05:22:53 AM »
here's one attempt.......check out the Q/A that Kevin McNamara of the ProJo did with us over at Cracked Sidewalks. I think he's the longest running Big East beat reporter (if you don't count Hoops Weiss).  Anyway, for your consideration,

Good idea.  If you see me starting a lot of alternate threads today, it's just an attempt to make a few of the others get lost in the shuffle ::)

Good interview, he does seem a bit down on Marquette, and I've got to believe that seeing the results of our first couple games is at least partially the cause of that.

I find it odd that some people can pick Marquette and UConn over Syracuse, which has four starters back and adds Paul Harris

Hmmm, you can say the same about Marquette having 4 starters back.  And well, using that logic, Marquette ended above Syracuse in the standings last year.  Both schools have a lot to replace in the one *key* player that they lost.  I guess people just like to drool over Harris  :-\

UConn I agree with though...they still have to prove they can play as a team.

Did the actual interview take place pre- or post- Detroit game?

If it was before, I'd be interested to see if his opinion has changed about our potential.

the Q/A was completed after the Detroit game.

keep in mind -- he didnt see the MU PC game in person last season so that might have something to do with it.
