I think it would be pretty cool if Buzz let the players decide what his punishment should be for his lapse of judgment last night. That way the players see no one is above the teams reputation and gets rid of any feelings of unfairness of MU being over strict on just players. Probably would generate some really good PR to see Buzz running sprints after practice with Crowder screaming at him, Buzz waking up early to do an extra community service event, or some creative punishment.

Lapse of judgement???? That dance was amazing! I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!!!!!

BlindboyPatSmith

I concur Buzz' behavior was appalling....the horror of watching him enjoy a hard fought victory was more than anyone should be subjected to......

Punishment:  I would not allow Buzz to coach his team during the first two rounds of the Big East Tournament.  Practice coaching would be acceptable but no 'court' appearances

What are you talking about?  If Buzz had done something to intentionally show up their coach, team or fans, you may have some basis for you statements.  His being happy about winning a game is no reason for him to be disciplined.

Good grief, who cares. Buzz was elated after a great win under tough circumstances. Grow up.

Punish him by sending him to Dancing With The Stars.

Not being able to recruit, study film, be in the gym with the kids will drive him NUTS!

I loved the dance, but it was pretty apparent he shouldn't have done it. I don't hold it against Buzz at all, but I do think it would be cool for him to show to his players that he makes mistakes and everyone has to live up to their actions no matter how small.

ETA: I don't think he deserves to be punished by the University or anything, just something he could do to connect with his players.

Buzz's dance reminds me of this-

"I propose now closing up by requesting you play a certain piece of music or a tune. I thought "Dixie" one of the best tunes I ever heard... I had heard our adversaries over the way had attempted to appropriate it. I insisted yesterday that we had fairly captured it... I presented the question to the Attorney-General, and he gave his opinion that it is our lawful prize... I ask the Band to give us a good turn upon it. " - Abraham Lincoln after the end of the Civil War

Try to be objective people, it was very unprofessional and buzz admitted so in the postgame interview. I love buzz but it was pretty bad, you don't do that.

Canned Goods n Ammo

If he danced against Georgetown, or Nova, or St Johns, I would be more critical.

But, WV is bailing on the Big East, so F-them. Let them cry all they want.

It wasn't a premeditated act. He's an emotional guy who got caught up. Not a big deal.

Chicos' Buzz Scandal Countdown

I think a Final Four run would be fun... Let's have them do whatever results in one of those.
"Half a billion we used to do about every two months...or as my old boss would say, 'you're on the hook for $8 million a day come hell or high water-.    Never missed in 6 years." - Chico apropos of nothing

Yeah....next thing you know he'll be jumping up on the scorer's table and throw his arms up in the air in a Victory salute.....

We certainly can't have THAT !!!!

Why, did he break a team rule or somethin'?

Hope he dances for next six weeks. I loved it. Have waited for a team like this for a long time. They are fun and entertaining. Enjoy the run because this is special.

muwarrior69

All this PC crap is just that, crap. Why the hell should he apologize for being happy after a great win. If that were Al, Raftery would'nt of gotten hit in the head with a pillow; instead he would have to stop Al from belting that kid in the chops. Go Warriors!

He deserves a raise for that act!

Naw.....he's not that good of a dancer....  ;D

MUMac

I like Buzz, a lot, but I was embarrassed by his dance.  I mean, really, who the he!! dances to "Country Roads"?  And, what kind of two step was that anyway?  Embarrassing!!

jesmu84

For those who are so offended by Buzz's dance, would you have wanted AL as a coach?

Warriors 79

He apologized on National TV 10 secs after he did it!!!!  Geez Louise!

Loved it..let's dance all the way to the FF!!  Otherwise, this discussion is pointless unless you are 1) 10 years old, 2) stupid or 3) clueless.  Oh, wait, that would be the WVA student body!

They are leaving the Big East anyway, F**k em if they can't take a joke or see the dance for what it was.

"I went into a restaurant one night and ordered lobster, and the waiter brought me one with a claw missing. He told me that in the back there's a tank they keep the lobsters in and while they're in there, they fight and sometimes one loses a claw. I told him to bring me a winner."  Al McGuire

No fairly certain they would have prefered Deane or that piano player guy.....

marquettewade3

At a time in sports when players flick off cameras (AJ Hawk), stomp on other players (Suh), brawl in stands (Ron Artest...sorry...Meta World Peace), and just in general act like a**holes, I think this whole thing is being blown way out of proportion.  The dude DANCED!  It was funny.  There was no malicious intent.  He has apologized at least a dozen times if he offended anyone.  Let's move on.
