I have to question whether the longer 3 pt line will benefit McNeal that much.  Some coaches, including Coach Crean, have their players lined up behind the pro 3 pt line anyway for good spacing.  In fact, if you attend one of their practices, you will see the pro line taped onto the practice floor.

Defenders will hug Fitz and Cubillan like they did previously, so I don't know how much of a change there will be.

The fact that defenders will still hug those two is the change.  Now there is an extra foot of distance between them and the sag help on someone driving.  A foot doesn't seem like a lot but it will make a difference.

What I am saying is that Coach Crean, like many coaches has these guys lined up behind the pro 3 pt line anyway.  So there isn't more space created.

The extra foot won't hurt the "pure" trey shooter -----but the inconsistent trey shooter e.g. (McNeal) will fair worse. Also the taller perimeter shooters generally will cope better than smaller perimeter shoooters.

Maybe they will shoot less?
