ND just beat Rutgers at home to go 10-3, tied with us for second place.  Obviously their win at ND over us gives them the tie breaker for seeding in the Big East tournament.

Oh, and South Florida beat Villanova at home to tie Georgetown for fourth place.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

ND is playing well, but they also got a break in the scheduling this year, getting both us and Syracuse at home, while we had to go on the road for both. Fab Melo was also out when they played Syracuse and we were missing both Otule and Gardner. There's no guarantee, but I don't think Pat Connaughton goes off for his career game against us at the Bradley Center.

Is head-to-head the first tie-breaker?  I thought it was overall schedule and then head-to-head.

Can anyone clarify

If there's only 2 teams tied, it goes straight to head-to-head. If it's more teams, then it's based on record in the mini-conference. There is another tiebreaker that includes the best win in league play, but with Syracuse locked into #1, ND would certainly win that as well.

That's how MU ended up with the #4 seed in 05-06.  Thank you, Steve Novak.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

True, but just as we were missing both Otule and Gardner, keep in mind they have been without Abromitis for most of the season.  Pat Connaughton would have gone off against anyone that gave him all the open looks we gave him.

Then ND earned their tie for second place.   With the team they have and the way they started the year, good for them.   Brey has done a nice job.   IMO they will to a tourney flameout, but they have exceeded expectations.

With the rest of the schedule USF has, i highly doubt they stay up there this long (WVU, SYR, LOU).

USF plays @Pitt, @Cuse, @Ville and home against Cincy and WVU.  If they win two of those games, I would be shocked.

I can't stand that ND is tied with us for second place, and watch Brey get COY in BEast. Huskies are gonna be a real challenge Saturday with all the size they have.

I can't stand Notre Dame, but I like Brey.  He's a classy guy who always has high praise for Marquette's teams.  I also just like his demeanor on the sideline.  Active but not overactive, and seems to be always positive both towards refs (as opposed to guys like Beheim and Bo who complain about any call that goes against their team) and his players.

Brey also seems to get the most out of his players, especially after his star players go down.  Abromitis this year, the goon 'Gody a few years back (they were horrible with him and then got extremely hot to make an NCAA Tournament push).  Maybe he just needs his best player to go down every year.
