How do you think he is doing? Will he be in the league in 2 years?

I want him to make it, he's a great guy and a good reprentative of MU

MattyWarrior

Depends on injuries and playing time. He just got a loose ball and his D looks solid in tonights game.

4everwarriors

About the same as Juan is doin', 'cept he's wealthier.

Ok--Half time of this Bulls-Knicks clash.  Back to the topic at hand.

Chicago area fans know that Coach Thibs has heaped praise on JFB from day one.  His hustle, bball IQ, respect for the game, good teammate characteristics all have been lauded by last year's COY.  He's part of D-Rose's inner posse--which will have merit long after his playing days are over.

What Chicago fans also know--and what Chi-town/Bulls haters just don't understand is that the Bulls have two separate teams, when healthy, a 1st unit and a second unit--and sometimes Thibideau substitutes 5 for 5.  The first unit is Rose and Rip Hamilton at guard with Boozer and Deng flanking Noah.  The 2nd unit has C.J. Watson for Rose at point, Korver for Hamilton, Brewer and Gibson flanking Asik at Center.

JFB fights Scalabrine for wing minutes and Lohn Lucas for Guard minutes, which will be hard to come by.  He looks like he can replace Hamilton, Brewer and even Deng and know what his job is.  It is just going to be hard for him to develop on this team---but as a Chicagoan--I wouldn't want him on any other.

That's why these 9 first half minutes are probably his highlight so far and why Reggie was saying how important that might be in Jimmy's and this Bulls team's development. And in the GAHH DEN no less.

LastWarrior

The Bulls, Thibs and fans LOVE Jimmy.  He keeps his head down and works his butt off, he'll stick around the league for a while.

good to hear..., looking forward to seeing him at the BC on Saturday.

fanofTR

He is one of favorite players to ever play at Marquette since I started following the team 10 years ago, everything he meant to the university and basketball team both but he looks looks totally lost on the offensive end of the ball

jsglow

Jimmy is very highly regarded here in Chicago.  He's a solid asset to the team.  Remember that the Bulls are credible NBA championship threat and jumped right into league play with esentially no pre-season or training camp.  He'll be a solid bench contributor for years to come.

boyonthedock

He's playing very good defense, even one on one against carmelo and amare, but can't score the ball at all. they're giving him the bogans treatment and he can't convert.

fanofTR

I absolutely love the defense though that he is playing right now. Shutting down Melo.

LloydMooresLegs

JFB playing the last several minutes of a 2 point game. Very interesting.

MU82

Serious crunch time action for Jimmy. On TNT, Reggie Miller gave him some love for his D on Carmelo. Then Jimmy stepped up and hit a nice 15-footer. I think this was his first real, when-it-matters contribution for the Bulls. Nice job!

Loved reading this post!    ;D
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Jimmy, playing in the Big East, on a big stage, played at the Garden maybe 10 or 12 times.  That is almost a home court, another
reason to play at MU!

timinatorx3

He really did a solid job on Carmelo, I love it.

WellsstreetWanderer

Box score from the other night said he saw 19 minutes.  Watched him lock down carmelo tonight.

good for him

lohaus

I thought he looked good.  It looks like he knows his role.  I'm not so sure about looking 'lost' on offense when you have D Rose with the rock at the top.  I saw him squared up on the baseline so as not to crowd the primetime players with an extra help defender.  He had a nice clutch jumper to help seal it.  Defense will be his staying power in the league.
