Otule, Durley(probs wont play much), Davante, Jamil, Juan, Steve Taylor, Jamail all give good size.

Then add in growth from Burton and good lenght from the guard spot from guys like Vander, Ferguson, Taylor and Todd.

Will we be a relitively big team finally?

I'd say we'd be an average sized team.  which is still a good thing.

Yes.  That gives us:

6'11", 6'10", and 6'8" at the center spot. (all 265 lbs.+ too)

6'7", 6'7", 6'6", 6'6" at the 3/4

6'4", 6'4", 6'4", 6'4", 6'3" at the 2/3

6'1" at the 1

That's an average height of 77.8" (just under 6'6"), which would be good for 25th tallest in the country.  Now, effective height is what matters, but that is calculated based on who plays and how many minutes they play, and that would be a wild guess.

Going on past #'s from Pomeroy (only has height data back to 2007), our average height has been (rank out of 345 teams):

2012: 209
2011: 104
2010: 341
2009: 290
2008: 244
2007: 150

That's a pretty incredible transformation, taking a roster that he was left with at 290 and 341 out of 345 teams in terms of height to one that is potentially top 25 in the nation.  I know this is assuming a lot (no transfers, everybody comes) but that's close to an ideal roster size-wise.  Just another reason to love Buzz as a head coach/GM combo.  He knows how to construct a roster and then he coaches the hell out of them.

Don't forget to add in that 7'5" cat, Looney, and Stone will be on his way.

Nice analysis. Im really excited for 2 years while I am obviously still excited for this season to play out obviously. Just great to see we will finally have good size to go along with the yearly talent.

We thought there was going to be a ton of size when McMorrow got active, too.

Durley is the only one on that list that could even qualify as a McMarrow down the road

We are taller.  Wilson and Taylor are 6'8".
Correct. Wilson is without question 6'8. We will be a big team with a lot of talent. With a starting line up of senior and junior combo of Blue and Mayo as guards, with Wilson and Gardner being the senior forwards, and Otule being a monster down low this will be a deep deep team. Im saying 10 top talent. Just sayin...

I don't think DG and Otule will see many minutes on the court at the same time.  IF DG can become quicker on the court it would increase those chances.  regardless, MU will have a well rounded, deep team that could put any number of lineups out on the court... The future continues to look bright.

I've heard they're 6'8" as well, but I kept it to listed heights, since that's what those average height rankings are based off of.

Otule isn't a stat sheet stuffer, but a guy who does a lot of important off stat sheet things that win games.  Still, monster down low is definitely overstating it.  I mean, we're not talking DeJaun Blair here.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

You do realize that its two more years down the road? Players generally get better as they get older. Blair was drafted after his sophomore season. Otule will be a 6th year senior. I have to disagree with you here. I think Chris will develop into a very good center over the next two years depending on his health.
