Sir Lawrence

Saw this on the Yahoo feed above, and while we've heard most of this from Rosiak, I didn't know that DJ has enough credits to finish his degree in less than the standard four years:

Marquette's James entering NBA Draft

Marquette sophomore point guard Dominic James is expected to put his name in for the NBA Draft in the next 48 hours, according to Golden Eagles coach Tom Crean.

"Everything is pointing in that direction," Crean said. "We're 100 percent supportive of him. If you don't help your players chase their dream, you're not doing the right thing."

The explosive 5-foot-11 floor leader averaged 14.9 points, 4.9 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game this past season and is not expected to hire an agent.

"It's got to be a win-win for him, though," Crean added. "If he's a first-round draft pick, I'll help him pack his bags. If not, he needs to come back and help us have a great season and get his degree."

Crean said that James, who also excels in the classroom, is within reach of getting his degree in a little more than three years.

James has displayed the ability to get to the basket without much difficulty, but he still needs to work on his perimeter shot -– he shot 27 percent from long distance this past season and 38 percent overall.

Thanks for the OLD news!

I'm sorry MoSarsour, but I must have missed the post that said James can get a degree in less than four years.

I agree that this bit of academic news is relevant. Especially considering how some have taken shots at James' intelligence and have already written him off in terms of squandering his soon to be newfound wealth.

Looks like the kid is a bit smarter then people have given him credit for.
