To play Indiana in the round of 32 if we both win.

I suspect a lot of brackets will have us close to the Hoosiers seed-wise to play up the Crean-MU storyline.

Is there much of a story line?  He left for another job...Yes we were all bitter at one point, but moved on.

Living down here in Indy, asking several IU grads, there isn't a story line on their side.

Any coach playing his former team is a storyline. That's the kind of stuff the Selection Committee lives for.

There was a story line leading up to the game when MU played MSU in the tourney a few years back.  There would be more of a story line here - former school (where he had his 1st HC job), former assistant coaching against him ...  IU's faithful may not remember, but I am sure CBS would remind everyone else once or twice.

I wasn't bitter when Crean left, and I won't be bitter if and when Buzz leaves.

That's just the way college basketball is. They come and they go. And if they don't win enough, we hold the door open for them and ask them not-so-politely to leave. There is little loyalty on either side of the equation.

While appreciating Crean's role in advancing the program (and in bringing in D-Wade), I truly believe Williams is a better coach. If and when Buzz leaves, I'll hope the next guy is better than both of them.

I don't see it. Comments like this keep popping up, but when you look at the bracket from last year, I actually see more evidence that they try to steer away from such matchups.  Its unfair to the coaches and a distraction to the current players.

I'm sure Buzz want's no part of a game against Indiana. He absolutely doesn't want MU players distracted by the "storyline."

In reality, the committee bypassed most opportunities to set up similar storylines last year:

Arizona/Xavier and Sean Millier?  Placed in different brackets
K-State/Cincy and Huggins?  Ditto
Louisville/Kentucky and Pitino?
Michigan/WVU and John Beilien?
UNC/Kansas and Roy Williams?
UK/Memphis and John Calipari?
WVU/K-State and Huggins?

Three match ups were in the same bracket, but would not have met until the Elite Eight:
San Diego State/Michigan and Steve Fisher
Xavier/Ohio State and Thad Matta
UCLA/Pitt and Ben Howland

There was one good potential first-weekend matchup:
Kansas/Illinois and Bill Self.
