Surely you must be talking about Vander Blue

He wasn't talking about Vander Blue ... and don't call him Shirley.

Freeport Warrior

I saw this thread a couple of days ago and the explanation that Mayo is just "all business" made sense to me as a casual fan. Unfortunately, I just heard from a higher-up source this morning that there actually is something to this. He isn't completely happy right now and Buzz and staff are working to handle. Hopefully it's just a blip and Buzz helps him through it.

GGGG

Ugh...thanks Freeport.  Hopefully this will get resolved.

Freeport Warrior

It ruined my morning. He seems to be the next in line to inherit "the man" status after DJO and Crowder graduate IMO.

Would hate to see anything come from this, but this is example no. 753 why you always keep recruiting even if it leads to oversigning.  You just never know with 18-22 year old kids...

It's also example no. 829 on why its so stupid when people wet their pants over what a roster will look like in the next year or the next two years.

Far too fluid a program to count unhatched eggs.

I wonder if you ever have more than 1 or 2 guys on any team who are "completely happy". That said, Todd looked (and played) like he was a little distracted against USF Tuesday. Is he homesick? Does he want to start? I love his game and think he has a huge future with this team. He will be the man here if he's patient.

You guys need to relax and stop over analyzing everything.

Not even that patient, he only has to wait eight months.  Unless his brother is making fun of him for not being a one and done, I doubt playing time is the issue.

Very true. However, my concern is for this season, as Mayo is a big part of what's going on.

Freeport, did you hear the reason(s) for his unhappiness?

THEultimateWARRIOR

Why wouldn't he be happy? Hes getting more playing time then any freshman I can remember since Buzz has been here.

Did your higher-up source give you any details?

There are all sorts of reasons why a 19 year old guy can be unhappy in college.

I heard he was mad cause before each game they announce the student section as the 6th man and not him

leever

A completely unreliable source tells me (off the record) that Todd will transfer to Eastern Michigan after this year because:
(1) He is terribly unhappy that Buzz is more concerned with "paint touches" than "deflections" and
(2) He prefers to play somewhere where the coach makes the players practice free throws at each and every practice.

I heard he's depressed because every time he walks to the Al, he sees Hegarty's is now a grass field

Not that it makes a ton of difference, but doesn't Todd turn 21 in a month or two?

True, among them, happy when "he's getting his," conversely, not as happy when he's not, regardless of team outcome. His personal stats are important and it makes sense considering his background. He's an NBA player's brother and knows the lifestyle well, so he has a little more ego than your typical freshman.

DiaperDandy

I can't imagine he would transfer. He is 21 now.  After sitting out 1 year, he would be 23 years old after completing his sophomore year.  This could hurt his chances of getting drafted. Here is to hoping Buzz and company get this issue worked out and Todd remains a viable member of this team.

Considering Marquette's transfer history the past 10 years I don't think it is out of the question to worry about Mayo taking a keek at other schools.

SaveOD238

If Mayo or anyone close to Mayo is reading this just remember that we all want Todd to be a Warrior for life!

PS: in the event that he does leave, can he transfer to WVU when they leave the BEast at the end of the season?
