He was at the last home game against Louisville, so was Burton and Wilson.  I would think Buzz is really high on him.
Burton might be the key to bringing him to MU. There are a few big time recruits in Milwaukee right now.

Not even just in Milwaukee...I mean Koenig and Dekker are highly rated...But you are right, there is some talent coming from the city in the next couple of years...

I can tell you everything there is to know about Kevon. Great person, very good academics. Needs to get stronger and quicker. Cousin is Nick Young of the Wizards. Many D-1 offers. Been at open gym. UW, MU, Georgetown, UT, MSU, et al are involved. Been compared to Jalen Rose by UW staff. Gut feel is he'll go out of state. Hello, UNC or Duke.

Wasn't that the feeling with Jamil Wilson when he was a five star recruit as a freshman/sophomore?  That it was UNC or Duke no question?  The guy is a sophomore and I'm sure he's the real deal, but there's still a lot of time between where he's at now physically and when he makes a decision.  I could be wrong, but it seems too early to tell.  As a poster above said, one thing that might be in our favor is having Burton back in Milwaukee for us to have a better shot at guys like Looney and Stone.

If you don't mind me saying, I'd prefer the young man matriculate at Marquette.

If Burton can be the Ambassador to MU Hoops and represent his city for others as he has said, that will be HUGE.  Like Jamailman--Looney and Stone!!

I know there are limitations--but can Terry Sanders and R Jax meet with these guys at a shoot around/visit/Louisville game, etc.?

Both of these guys are involved with MU well after their playing days.  R Jax is a big, from the city conf. who believe it or not did come to MU (I know transferred) and went to the Final Four.  Sems like a pretty good selling point to me.  Terry has much to offer as well regarding all that he has done at MU and after his playing days.

If it helped with Looney and Stone, I'd love Duane Wilson too. While the Nunn, Taylor, Parker dream would be amazing, I think a 2015 team with Burton, Wilson, Looney, and Stone is more realistic. Add in a senior Steve Taylor and that could be a ridiculously good team.

Looney was at MM so Buzz is doin' his due diligence. For those local, Hamilton is on the tube tonight. So check him out for your own selves.
Love to have him wear the Warrior jersey, but my gut says he goes elsewhere. Just sayin'. Style of play and teammates are very important to him. Conference, not so much. Shoulda also mentioned that Syr. is involved too.
Kevon is the #2 rated player in the country at his position. Dude ahead of him is rated #1 overall. School's out if Roy comes callin'.

F Roy. I like what Brew is proposing.

It only takes one to say no thanks, I'm staying home.  See B Koening.

Looney, Burton, and Tokoto are the best players in the state. We lost one, got one, let's get  two. Arroyo Edwards, Jalen Currie, Duane Wilson and Diamond Stone. Jamaar McKay and
D'Andre Downey worth mentioning. Academics?

Someone posted Edwards has to go Juco...

Looney is a game changer. Watch this video when he goes up against Burton's team. I can't wait to have Burton here, but from a length perspective, Looney towers over Burton and everyone else he matches up against. He is a skill player too, not strictly a fastbreak highlight dunker like a lot of other kids highly ranked. Wilson never had the skill/drive catch up to his athleticism during high school.

For those in the area--Sports Weekly on Ch 32 is doing a highlight on Kevon tonight at 5 pm CST.  Also saw that they are replaying the Hamilton game prior to the MU/PC game on Sat. afternoon.  That there is some good TV.

Remember, Syracuse will be in the ACC. That means the family will not get many chances to see him which would help us. I know of a family whose child committed to one of the traitor schools (in another sport) and the family is upset because they will not have many opportunities to see them play without a substantial travel outlay.

That won't be a factor. As I stated, conference affiliation isn't that important.

Some guys actually look at this kind of situation as a way to get away from home, to try something different.

I remember when Joe Wolf was coming out of Kohler and it was between us and Carolina. On decision day, one of the things Wolf expressly said was that Carolina appealed to him because it was something of a "new adventure."

In fact, that's one of the main reasons I chose Marquette instead of any of the many other schools I was considering closer to where I lived. Which is why I never get upset at a Milwaukee-area or state of Wisconsin basketball player for deciding to try some other part of the country.

That being said, here's hoping Looney does want to stay home!

At least with Syracuse going to ACC, if they land Looney, he still can transfer home to MU.
