Does this team have any bball IQ? are they intelligent on either side of the ball? I really think a lack of IQ explains a lot of our problems. Sure, we're athletic and deep, but none of the guys THINK when playing.

groove

when you recruit switchables who are more athlete than basketball player, that is what you get. An athletic team that has no idea how to play basketball.

I wish you weren't correct, simply because that doesn't bode well for buzz's recruiting philosophy and MU's future. But I fear you may be.

He's not correct. What other BE team is recruited full of switchables that are athletic?

Syracuse, the number one team in the nation.

You fail to mention said team also has two upper level PGs, two dead-eye deep threats, and two legitimate middle men.

That's quite a bit more then what our side is.

Junior was recruited as an upper level PG, and a lot of people here love to lick the tit of Derrick Wilson.

I'll give you the deep threats.

Otule and Gardner are legitimate middle men.

The PGs are underwhelming.

Otule and Gardner are serviceable. Both are quite flawed which keeps them short of legitimate.

We can argue whether the gulf is razor thin or wide, in the end the proof is in the results.

I'm not disagreeing with you as much as groove's previous veiled comments wanting 'traditional' players.

I don't want "traditional' players as much as I want players who can make jump shots and have knowledge about defensive concepts and blocking out. I'm sick of slashers who throw up bricks and PG's who leave their feet before they have any idea what they want to do with the ball.

Got any thoughts on JUCOs?
