This came out a couple days ago .. should have posted it earlier.

It's interesting .. Bo gets a nice bump in salary after an interesting year, ranked #1 at one point, #2 .. loses in 2nd round.  It's interesting, though, that Crean has gotten salary bumps after equally interesting years (losing in 1st round of NCAAs) .. but, and it's a big but, Crean's name is linked to big program openings every year.  MU needs to step up and make it as hard as possible for Crean to leave.  --

When's the last time Ryan's name was out there for another coaching position?  While I'm sure he could find another job quickly, it sure seems no big programs are knocking down his door .. nice raise!

Bo has maintained that UW was, is, and will continue to be his dream job. That said, his next stop will be at the old age home. Bo ain't goin' nowhere.
Crean, on the other hand while younger and of different persuasion, will continue to try and climb the coaching ladder.

The reason he rarely gets mentioned for any other jobs is because Wisconsin pays their coaches a lot of money.....and oh yeah he doesn't really recruit out of the Upper Midwest that much. Recruiting is much more important for "basketball schools"

Money has nothing to do with it.  Many of the coaches that move or get mentioned are among the highest paid in the country.

Ryan has wanted the head coaching position in Madison for nearly twenty years. He was passed over for it twice before. You don't campaign for a position for that many years and then leave. He's 60 years old, will coach 4-6 more years and retire to a fat pension. He's not dumb.
