Close one, but I'll go with Gardner.

13 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals, one block.

DJO early, but his 2nd half was horrendous with TOs and missed paint touches.

I say OX.

Without an interior presence, we would've lost this game.

Give it to the Big Guy!

Gardner.

DJO was horrendous late in the second half with turnovers and dumb fouls.

But why is MU pressuring the ball at that point?

DJO set the tone early...but had troubles in the second half.
Davante played solid.  Got tired and made some dumb fouls.
Jamil played excellent defense, but took some dumb shots.

I say Davante.  Solid bounce back effort from his worst performance of the year.

jutaw22mu

My vote is for Gardner.  Yeah DJO was awesome early but everytime his number was called Gardner was there.  He made several big plays.

Gardner. Double double. Solid effort.

Gotta be DJO. Carried us through the first half, hit his threes, and chipped in with 6 boards and 3 assists.

Honorable mention to Gardner, but fouling out and not being available at the end tips it in DJO's favor.

ATL MU Warrior

DJO in a close one over Davante.  Could certainly make the case for either.

As much as you could say DJO kept us in the game the 1st half, he almost played us out of it in the 2nd.  Ox is my vote...solid throughout..timely big plays..very active on the boards and defensive end.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

We would be screwed without DJO but how many times have we seen him shoot the lights out in the first 10 minutes and then disappear?

APieperFan3

The "average fan" is an idiot.

For the love of God, Ners, do you have to come out and slam my post every time I don't stick my tongue 4 inches up DG's heinie? I said he had a good game. I don't give him my vote because he fouled out. But in general, he played well.

Why not quote everyone else who didn't vote for Ox? Hell, why not do that every game. Just post "Ox" in 24 pt font, bold-faced, italicized, with a picture of you photoshopped standing next to him so we all know that he's the only guy who can ever be worth of SOTG?

Lighthouse 84

I said DJO because he got us to the early lead which was tough for Nova to overcome. I realize they got to within 1 but I still think DJO's early play earned him SOTG.

Day-Day....DJO again made a lot of stupid decisions with the ball today.

WI inferiority Complexes

Without a doubt the SOTG is Derrick Wilson, for continuing to solider on after Vander left him hanging on that high-five.

If Derrick shows the heart to dress for the Georgetown game, I say we give him the SOTG again, regardless of the final outcome.  Some things are more important than the box score.

Well done, sir!

Big Easy.  Love to watch him work.  He is an old-time post guy on offense.  I love the confidence when he just stands there and holds the ball, back to the basket.  He is working hard to be better on defense.  His on-ball is good.  He's not the off-the-ball good like a good center these days.  Not really a shot-blocker or charge-taker.  Otule was both.

Had foul trouble, which I assume will be an issue the rest of the season.  Still, he was the stud of the game.   When he was in the game it was his game.  When he gets the ball he's going to score.  That's it.  Get buckets.

Strong candidate for post of the year. Only 365 days  to best this.
