Really hope he can (and chooses to) make it back this year.  He's a difference maker for this team.

I believe he can afford to practice awhile before committing to the decision.  Every player is one injury away from 'season ending'.  I believe that if he feels and practices well, we'll see him on the floor before too much longer.  BEast starts on Sunday.

If he can go within the next month, I still say he comes back. But as glow noted, he should just practice for a bit to see if he is truly ready. Was there ever any definitive answer on what the extent of the acl injury was? It obviously was not a complete tear, but I always hated all the negativity in the Otule injury forums so I tried to avoid them.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

The more he practices, the greater the likelihood that the injury may not be classified as "season ending," and therefore the greater the chance that his appeal for a sixth season would be denied.  The fact is that the medical waiver is really meant for players who are done for the year...not those who are the fence in that regard.  If he is physically able to play, he has to play.

+1.

Chris will be on the court, if not he will lose the year.

Agree.  But I'm sure he gets to 'test it' over several days of practice.  I'm assuming that if he feels pretty good this week in 3-4 practices, we'll see him in the starting lineup as a big emotional boost on Sunday.  And knowing Buzz (where the heck did Juan come from so quickly), we may see Chris in limited minutes Thursday night.

I would guess if the concern is that the knee is so unstable that he could re-injure it in a game, that they would also shut him down for practice.  I think we find out pretty quickly if he plays or not.

As to the question above on the extent of the injury, except for the diagnosis from this board by the doctor's, dentists, those that had been injured in their pas or those that stayed at a Holiday Inn, I have not seen anything definitive.
