Apparently Novak has been waived by the Spurs, four days after signing a contract.  Adrian Wojnarowski is tweeting that the Knicks will likely sign him to a guaranteed contract if he clears.

If there is a place in the league for Kris Humphries then there damn well better be one for Steve Novak.

Humphries averaged a double double last season, with over block a game.  He's an above average rebounder and at least an average low post defender, which is way more than you could say for Steve.  As much as I love Steve, he doesn't give you much more than a (fantastic) spot up shooter.  So not only are they entirely different players, but Humphries does a lot more for you.  So I guess I don't see your point.  If it was just a joke about how Humphries is a reality TV a-hole, then my bad for taking it too seriously.  ;)

Steve's probably a better fit on the Knicks, who have a couple premiere level guys who can draw attention inside (Amare) and out (Carmelo) than with the Spurs.  Maybe that's a few more open 3's he can knock down.  I mean, Popovich was gritting out wins with smoke and mirrors last year with that Spurs team, there wasn't a big place for a guy that does just one thing.  Steve was kind of redundant with Matt Bonner on that Spurs team, who is a good shooter, a bigger body and better rebounder, even if Steve was a slightly better shooter.   And maybe Novak will see a few more minutes, because they don't have a ton of shooters on the Knicks outside of Melo and... Mike Bibby?  Bill Walker?

What does Novak have in common with Humphries other then they are both white and tall?

They both play in the NBA.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

You think the chick that got famous for being peed on by Brandy's brother is hot?

Yeah.  I was referencing his failed reality TV career and the fact that he's a colossal douche.

you've watched enough reality tv to know that he's a douche?  sucks to be you.

Novak was signed off waivers yesterday by the Knicks, dressed but didn't play in laast nights game.

Signed, off waivers - does that mean the Knicks are paying the rest of his contact that Steve had negotiated with the Spurs? If the Knicks had wanted to sign him to a new contact after clearing waivers, but decided to put in a claim - sounds like they were afraid of loosing him to another team.

Humphries is an interesting dude.

Didn't like his act in college. Certainly didn't like the bailing out early in NBA days. But watching him up close last season in Jersey I came to not dislike him. He worked hard, did the little crap that Lopez shies away from, and with Williams in tow he gets an easy 10-12 points a game.

Off the court, he never put a foot wrong last year until that rented mule showed up after being rebuffed by Gallo in NYC.

Today is the day players need to be waived so they can clear waivers on Saturday.

If not, the team is on the hook for their salaries.
