How they voted (AP poll: Week 5)

Still unbeaten after Week 5 and with a win on the road at a ranked Wisconsin, Marquette picked up 345 votes as it moved to No. 11 in the latest Associated Press top 25 poll.

Wow...I expected every voter to have us in now, but none having us lower than 15? Fantastic! And a vote for #3 in the nation, that's remarkable. Though how ANY voter had Wisconsin higher than us is beyond me. We controlled the entire game on their home court. I don't even think there's an argument to consider UW comparable to us, much less better.

3rd.. Wow... He must be into computers.

Yeah, he had us number 7 before we beat Wisc too.

Also noticed that our friend Seth Davis still has us lower than most other voters.

I wonder if someone does the numbers on these guys throughout the season to determine:

  • Who had the least amount of moves on each team week to week (i.e. were good at predicting how good teams were)
  • From a weighted averaged standpoint who was closest to the team's final raking

I would love to see who did well and who did poorly.

It's not math intensive, but CBSSports.com's Gary Parrish does do a weekly Poll Attack to expose voters who are off on some kind of tangent.
