This is a hilarious pic. Props to the UW fan who found this (unless these kids actually have some kind of mental illness... then thats terrible). Lets use this to feed the fire boys and girls, anyone else have some good comeback pics?

I believe this picture is when the announced the new mascot name to be the "Gold".  I could be making that up though.

Eff. I'm the guy on the right. Every. Damn. Year. Ugh...

They happened to catch me the instant they announced Gold, and it was on the front page of the JS the next day.

SURE UR NOT THE GUY IN THE MIDDLE??   :D ;D

That's the saddest bunch of nerds i ever did see. my reaction was probably closest to the laughing guy.

GOO

good god, that is a classic photo.  Makes me laugh everytime.  At least the guy on the right and the guy laughing are normal enough.  The guy in the middle better get a full length mirror and look into it before he goes out in public.

Good luck coming up with a UW photo to top that one... there is probably one out there, but good luck finding it.

jaybilaswho?

hahah... I know the [laughing] guy with the hoodie and backwards hat. When i found that picture years back... i immediately sent it to him. He was just passing through the AMO and saw this happening. I also had a class with the girl on the left when I was a freshman or sophmore. She is 100% 'all there'.

My friends and I used to call the girl on the left mom jeans!  She was always in the lower bowl, sitting right behind the baseline.  Priceless!

I found this interesting from a post about Wisky's next four games (UNC-MU-GB-UNLV)

"Okay, GB doesn't really belong in the discussion but we still play them.

As to the big boys, this is a fascinating threesome for the Badgers to play in quick succession because they all are built to play fast and "athletically."  It's fair to say we are built differently.  UNC seems to be the most complete of the three, as they not only have kids who are outstanding athletes but also are generally very skilled, and they have a great point guard.   Playing in the Dean Dome UW will need to dictate tempo, stay out of foul trouble and shoot well to make the game competitive into the last minutes.  A very tall order.  The bottom line is that you don't beat teams that good on their home court.  (See OSU last year.)  But it should be great preparation for the next two.  I see about a 15% chance of winning this one.

Marquette is not nearly as talented as UNC, and at least in the starting lineup not even as talented as Wisconsin.  A couple of them can run faster and jump higher but as a group they aren't as skilled and we will still have the best player on the floor at any position.  But they are fairly deep and they have a chip on their shoulder that weighs a ton in a year when their most significant local and national press coverage has been about sexual assaults on coeds.  So this game is once again their Super Bowl.  With the Big East fragmenting, the fires of hate in their rivalry with UW are the one constant that will sustain their fans for the next couple years, and they desperately want a win.  From what I have seen of them, they are dangerous, but as usual they are a defensive team that thinks they are an offensive team, which makes them vulnerable to smart opponents.  As swenson famously once put it about a game in which Bo bested Izzo, don't be surprised if this turns out to be a chess versus checkers match.  I'd call this 65% for the good guys (with 10% of that being home court advantage).

I thought UNLV was really good when we played them in Vegas last year and the result last night certainly affirms that.  But they may be more dependent than the other two on keeping the pace really fast.  They were jacking some threes early in the shot clock, late in the game against UNC when they had a 7 - 10 point lead that were just astonishing.  At home, I think UW will really frustrate and penalize their need to play fast.  Call this one 70% (20% home advantage).

We'll beat GB.  100%.

It's going to be a great couple weeks of basketball.

The Photoshop was completely unnecessary.  They already had lesbians, a douchebag, a hippie, and a sock puppet in the photo -- a perfect representative sample of the UW.

we will still have the best player on the floor at any position.
The advantage at every position shows that guy is clueless. After watching them again last night, I would objectively say it's pretty even when comparing starting line-ups. 2 for us (DJO v. Gasser, Crowder v. Brusewicz), 2 for them (Taylor v. Cadougan, Bergrren v. Otule) and a push (Blue/Evans).  I think our bench is much better. Their home court is huge. Before the season started, I would have put Otule way ahead of Bergrren, but he plays pretty solid defense inside and he is much more skilled offensively than I remember. I can't see Otule or Gardner following him out to the arc. Maybe Wilson, as someone suggested.

Getting their bigs in foul trouble with Gardner's pump fakes would be a beautiful thing. I also found myself talking out loud during the WI/NC game when NC's guard was denying Taylor all over the half court and not letting him even sniff the ball -- "That's what we need Blue to do."  If Gasser and Brust beat us driving to the hoop, we deserve to lose. I just don't want to see those guys setting up for target practice out there. Cannot wait for Saturday.
