Besides, when you're going to battle I'm not sure "baby blue" is the color to use!  Look at the picture of Crowder to the left.  Would he look nearly as menacing in baby blue?

Possibly...

The other colors on the McGuire era baby blues were much more subdued as well.

Not sure that I agree with that.  The other colors certainly appear to be very similar to me.  The difference was the shade of baby blue on the McGuire era teams.  I think these are more true to the baby blue than those were.

I know this has been discussed in other threads but wouldn't saturday be an awesome day to unveil a previously unannounced 5th uniform?

I would assume they would do that at home. But if this game was at the Bradley Center, it would be a perfect opportunity.

Still hopin that uni is going to be a throwback from 03.

MUEng92

Throwback to 2003?  Wouldn't that be more of a Handback.

I think the current jerseys are more subdued than the old.

Whether you like him or not a #2 baby blue "Blue" jersey should be the best seller in the Spirit Shop.

My guess is it will be something for Coaches v Cancer or the Jimmy V Classic.  Probably a pink theme.  Now, that would really be a menacing looking uniform!

Did I miss something? Is there a rumor of a 5th uniform going around?

Yes, I think it was mentioned that Buzz was interested in a pink uniform.  I think it would be awesome in the coaches v. cancer game next week.

Pink would be wild. Maybe go with Navy with Pink letters/trim or something? or I guess white with pink trim would work as well.

Didn't the MU Women play a game with pink uniforms?

I could see them holding this off and then blasting it for sale to raise funds for cancer.  Would be a nice touch.

I would go hot pink with gold and baby blue trim.

BrewCity83

I'd go with a darker pink jersey with navy and baby blue trim in the same design as the current jerseys.  Take the gold off--it clashes with pink.  The side striping would be navy, baby blue, and pink.  The Marquette wordmark would be white with navy trim and the numbers navy with white trim.

Yea, the ladies played in pink.

Not to be too old fashioned, I just can't imagine a mens team wearing all pink.

Plus, I think it might be more creative/cool to do something a little more subtle like pink trim and/or pink sneakers.

Like the NFL does?  For the entire month of October?  Not creative enough anymore.

I don't think any of them fundamentally change their jerseys though.

Just wristbands and shoes, right?

I think MU should change the jerseys, but I don't know if making them completely pink is the way to go. It would be cooler to incorporate pink trim in the current jersey design.

Just an opinion.

Edit: G.D. Grammar.

BrewCity83

I just figure if you're gonna go pink, then go pink!

And, like the teenagers are saying, "pink is the new blue".

TallTitan34

Keep the stripes, wordmark, numbers, and names the normal colors and make the rest pink.

Didn't Oregon men's do a pink game? I thought I saw Jamil with some hot pink shoes or something from when he was with Oregon. Also, with his mom, it wouldn't shock me that we do something special for an event that deals with cancer.

Oregon did all white with pink numbers & trim and pink shoes.

They forgot to tell the fans that pink clashes with gold.

regardless of record with them i am still pumped about us wearing them. The baby blue jerseys could be some of the best in all of college basketball.  Can't wait to watch them on the Big Ten Network

wojosdojo

Don't they wear pink jerseys during coachs vs. cancer week when they wear sneakers and jumpsuits? Last year we had white and pink jordans vs. Syracuse. I bet if they do it they wait till then.

I think it's the dark blue numbers with the light blue uniform that upset my sensibilities and makes it seem to clash to me.  I think it just goes better with the yellow lettering.  But that's just me.  (The old ones were hideous too, only less so.)
