Who cares?

If you want to write about this, find a VolFan blog and let all the VolFans (the six that can read and write) know how lucky they are to have Jeronne.

We have a great team. We are 5-0. We have some tough matches ahead of us.

Let's worry about that and not some Orangenecks in East Tennessee, or some Madison guy who found his way in the South.

nyg,

it is a strained achilles tendon.

Dude, just updating about a former player finding success. We have a damn week off during feast week where all the major teams are playing in tournaments. If you dont care, view another thread. I for one enjoy college bball and have been watching the tournies, one of which had Jeronne playing in it.

I think the move farther away from Madison may have been helpful to him.  He seems to have found it this year.  Last year he still seemed a lost soul on the court.

From all I have heard about him in Madison is that he is a good kid.  Would have loved to see him succeed at MU, but wish him no ill at Tennessee.

Me too.  But, without making Tim Maymon Buzz's de facto boss, it wasn't going to happen.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

"McRae's performance was huge considering the absence of Maymon, who missed most of the game because of a bruised calf. Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin said he expects Maymon to be back on the court for Monday's game at Oakland." From espn blog

You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

Here's a gem from ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/39889/numbers-to-know-vol-pulls-a-blake-griffin):

"Tennessee junior Jeronne Maymon had never scored more than 14 points or pulled down more than 12 rebounds in his career. In Tuesday's 99-97 double overtime loss to the Memphis, he came out of nowhere for 32 points and 20 rebounds. That performance put him in some pretty elite company.

Maymon became the first power six conference player with a 30-point, 20-rebound game since Blake Griffin. Before that, the previous two were Michael Beasley and Kevin Durant. The last Tennessee player with a 30-20 game was Steve Hamer in the 1996 SEC Tournament. Maymon hit 16 free throws, the most by a Vol since Tony White (18) in 1987. "

Steve Hamer. Nuff said.

AND it took him 2 OTs to do it. Just stating the facts: 6 points, 5 rebounds in 10 minutes of extended play to go along with 0 assists and 0 steals.
Impressive 16 for 17 from the charity stripe.

Worth qualifying, but he still had 26 and 15 in regulation. That's monstrous.
