Hearing now the thumb injury isn't as bad as believed, but will still require surgery.

Bears say he will certainly miss next 4 games (@ Oak, KC, @ Den, Sea). Assuming the surgery goes well and heals properly, Bears would evaluate then where they are in the playoff race before the Christmas night game (again, assuming Cutler heals in good time).

We'll see if this is true, but just heard this from a pretty good and reliable source.

The next 4 are all games that the Bears can win with Hanie.

I think the next 4 are games the Bears could win with me at QB.

I don't know the answer to this but maybe someone on here may have an answer.  Cutler is a diabetic....does this have any effect on his recovery time i.e. making it longer?

It should have no effect on his recovery time.

Probably the same effect the plethora of STD's from his reality show ex-fiance/girlfriend has on him.

Not sure the "?", but both you link and the one in the post above yours show that she denies it.

Yep.  My bad.  When I 1st read the deadspin article she had yet to deny the report.

Ah, now I understand that as the deadspin article has the denial as an "Update".

Kyle Orton was just waived by Denver. I trust Hanie and know that the Bears will make the playoffs, but it might be something to look into.
Bring back FFP!!!

He has to clear waivers first and maybe the Chiefs claim him if not someone else.

Anybody that claims him owes him 2.75 mill for the rest of the year....if he clears waivers they pay like 710K and the Broncos pay the rest.

Word on NFL.COM is the Bears will put in a claim on waivers for Orton.  Dish?

My gut tells me KC picks him up on waivers.  Not sure, if I am he Bears, that I would put a waiver claim in unless I think Cutler is out through the Playoffs.

Dish

Hearing Bears will not put a waiver claim in on Orton. Bears will roll the dice that he passes through waivers and then try to sign him at the pro-rated veteran minimum.

FWIW, Orton wants to come back to Chicago, at least that is his stated preference (publicly he's stated this too I believe).

MUMac

Of the teams looking for a QB, the Bears are the ones who have the most legitimate playoff chances.  I would suspect Orton would want to go there.  Publicly saying it, in hopes other teams back away.  I just don't see KC doing that.  As weak as the AFC West is, KC still has a legitimate shot (Seattle, circa 2010 anyone?).  Palko does nothing for me.  With Cassell out for the season, they may need to make that move.

As for the Bears, as I said earlier, if they fear Cutler will be out longer than 4 weeks, pick up Orton.  Otherwise, I would pass.  They will win the next 4 without Cutler.  After that, they should be in good shape to make the Playoffs and bring Cutler back.

So you're a fan of hers?

Not necessarily.  I just think it was unnecessary.  I'd have said the same thing if Rodgers was dating her.

Houston?  I don't think you or the texans think leinart is going to lead them to playoff success.

She is mostly "famous" for banging Leinart and Cutler.

She's FOREVER UNCLEAN!

Texans are signing Kellen Clemons.  They will not be going after Orton.
