Normally I don't feel bad for people in these situations but Jolly seemed like a genuinely good guy with an addiction. Also, I hate the NFL's policy of banning them from teams when suspended. Brilliant idea to take away the guys support system and positive activities. Missing games and pay is punishable enough, what's the harm in letting them practice.

Or simply having him around the facility while he is on rehab.  And were all these offenses of his for possession?  Why are we locking up people for six years because they possess?  Jolly needs help...not to be stuck in prison for six years.

I know the cases are different, but someone like Lindsay Lohan, who has constantly violated parole for drug violations gets 6 hours in jail, while Jolly gets 6 years.  Something is unnatural carnal knowledgeed up in our criminal justice system.

All the while, it costs a state on average $40,000 a year to imprison someone, so Texas, enjoy keeping an guy behind bars and fitting the bill of a 1/4 million dollars.
