What I found interesting in a four page article in the Utah newspaper on BYU was that it said the Western Schools were joining only in football with the opportunity to join in the future in other sports. Specifically mention Houston and SMU. I do not know if the article is correct, but maybe the basketball conference will not expand as fast as the football conference. That also made me wondered if the Big East would allow Pitt and Syracuse to leave earlier for football, but make them stay longer for basketball.
