Forward Juan Anderson To Miss Three Games

Marquette freshman Juan Anderson has been suspended by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for the first three games of the 2011-12 season for accepting a free ticket to a local sporting event, a violation of NCAA rules.

Wow. Can he not accept a free ticket period, or does there have to be a presumption that he got the free ticket because of his status as a college athlete?

The NCAA regulates all these things.  Some to a very silly degree.  They did away with allowing food during the season.  Coaches complained, so they allowed fruit and bagels, but outlawed butter, jelly or cream Cheese.  The organization gets so caught up in the small things, sometimes.

He made it on ESPN. Just a poor decision and a learning opportunity. Really fun reading a badger fan compare the incident to Penn State in the comments.
