Why would you be surprised? This is my first year without Time Warner Cable, switched over to DirecTV. So I'm about to pick up the Sports pack and want to make sure I'll be able to get the non-ESPN games, as well as the Buzz show, etc. Will I not be able to get all the games with this?

Direct + Sports package and you get MASNs and SNY.  Most of the MU games will be televised, but not all of them in HD.  At least in the last few years. That might change this year.

If you live in the eastern half of WI, you might get blacked out for the TWS 32 games.

Friday 11/11/11 Mount St. Mary's at Marquette at 8pm in HD on both SNY and MASN...Channels 639 and 640 on DirecTV.

EDIT....Buzz's show....Inside Marquette Basketball is televised Friday 11/11 and 11/18 at 2pm on SNY....should be every Friday at 2pm unless it is preempted for some reason but they usually manage to run it once a week at the same time...just set the DVR.

I just confirmed here in Chicago, ESPN3 will have it.  Comcast is an ESPN3 internet company too.

So, for those of you with comcast, you can either stream it through your computer (quality is still pretty decent), or if you have an XBOX360 with a gold subscription, it comes through their app on your TV.

Lastly, there is always the worst case scenario of checking this board around game time  :)

they haven't announced the schedule yet

the game will most likely not be on full court hoops. ...

as has been stated hundreds of times on this board...full court hoops for BE teams is the worst poosible investment....additionally mnay of MU's games are on ESPNU which is not part of Full Court.

Spend $6 a month and order the sports pack that gives you MASN, SNY, etc.  you can then cancel in April, giving u a total investment of about $40 and will allow u to watch 90% of MU's games.  Or order full cour t hoops and spend $150 and maybe get a 1/3 of them.

Full court is great for the B12 and the ACC, horrible for BE.

Dimes I get what you are saying.  Does the Comcast sports entertainment package in Chicago include MASN or SNY though?  I guess I can stream it but it would be nice to see it on my big screen with quality sound.

i have no idea....i moved on from cable a decade ago

I thought those games were on ESPNU (though I'm sure they're interchangeable at times).

Just checked ESPN3's lineup for Friday, says that it should be on there, for those of you who can stream ESPN3...

If you have a decent computer and an HDMI cable, ESPN3.com will put it on your big screen with quality picture and sound.

But before I cut cable, I recall that SNY was available via UVerse & Comcast's sports tiers.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Thanks. Good to know I will get to see it as this off season has been brutally long!

Isn't ESPN3 the same thing as ESPN360 and fullcourt?

It will probably be blacked out locally, though, won't it?

ESPN360 is now ESPN3 and is an internet feed/broadcast available as long as your internet provider supports ESPN3, you can get it. I know that Comcast supports ESPN3, not sure what other cable providers do.

FullCourt is an actual TV package that you'd have to pay for through your cable provider.

per ESPN3's website:

Why is an event blacked out?

This is because the event that you requested is not available on ESPN3 in your market. Blackouts apply to broadcasts that have been sold regionally or locally per league, conference and local rights holder agreements. Regional and local rights holders are usually broadcast stations or regional sports networks. Blackouts are implemented to protect the primary rights holder, as defined by the professional and college sports leagues or teams in a given market.

I streamed a good amount of games through my xbox last season, which supports the ESPN3 platform on xbox live (I also have comcast which supports ESPN3). It's a pretty good stream, never had any issues with buffering, although it's a non-HD feed, which is not ideal but it works!  ;D

For those of you who need to get your MU fix in the San Francisco Bay Area, I highly recommend coming out to Kezar's Pub in San Francisco on Stanyan St. Been building a nice little MU contingency there, especially for the weekend games! It's a great sports bar and MU Friendly!

The black out policy only applies to people that live in the designated Time Warner market, which is basically the eastern half of WI.  If you live in this area and don't have Time Warner, you won't see the TWS 32 games.

real chili 83

According to this link, the game is not on ESPN3 this Friday.  Am I missing something?  And, no...I don't live in Eastern Wi and in the TW area where there might be a blackout.

This link shows TCU v. Georgia on ESPN3.  Bummer.
