Considering that Mark was a freshman in 78-79, I doubt he would have helped much against Miami   ;D

All kidding aside, both Cummings and Aguirre would have come to MU if Al stayed. Hank wouldn't take Dillard as he had other choices (Wilson, Green, Worthen) and his grades were not good (eventually went to a JUCO), so that was a further nail in the coffin--and the gradual slide began.

BTW, MU's 78-79 team lost to DePaul in the S16, and finished the season ranked 10th in the AP poll.
