Not True. Here's what he actually said...

I just think we've always got to do the best thing we can for the University of Louisville. We always will exercise and look at our options. We'll always keep them in full view of what we can do because the school comes first."

No where in the presser did Tom say that Louisville would not commit to the Big East (he said the opposite in fact, more on that later) or that it wanted to leave the conference. All Tom said was that he will do what is best for the university which is his job. Here are a few direct quotes from the video that you might want to consider as well before posting further:

"I think the Big East has been waiting for things to settle so they can move ahead with their plan and I think the commissioner has a good plan and one that we expect to be a big part of"

"The Big East has been a great home for us and I want to make sure that we reiterate that because I think that has been lost in all this translation. It has been great for us the last six years. Hopefully we can help it grow as it helped us grow beginning six years ago."

When asked by a reporter if UofL was committed to the Big East now (4:58), here is what Tom replied "We are right now. We sure are. Absolutely."
"Being realistic is the most common path to mediocrity." Will Smith

We live in a society that rewards mediocrity , I detest mediocrity - David Goggi

I want this quote to serve as a reminder to the vast majority of scoop posters in regards to the MU BB program.

Pretty easy to say when you have no options.  If the B12 calls tomorrow, they are gone.

Yep.

Now swap in "Buzz" for "Tom" and make the object of the statement the MU Men's b-ball team, and the thread that would follow would be five pages of teeth-gnashing.

MuMark

"Tom are you commited to your marriage?

"I am right now"

I bet that would make his wife feel just wonderful........ ::)

Teeth-gnashing?  Meh.

"I'm not leaving Chris, I'm not leaving Jae, I'm not leaving DJ and no dollar amount is going to make me leave them. And that may mean we get our (butts') beat all year long this year. I don't know," Williams said. "But like momma says, `Don't mess with happy,' and I'm happy."

Don't mess with happy.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
