Question for Rocky
« on: November 15, 2006, 12:05:25 PM »
Is it possible to archive the gameday chat's in case we would like to go back and scan through them?

I think I would at least enjoy going back and seeing what the take is from the online contingency after the fact.

thanks.

I do have some logs (only 1000 lines max I think though).  Hadn't thought about putting them up for grabs...there's a lot of just friendly banter in there, not always game chat.

I can tell you, people were not happy on Monday, and much happier last night :)

What do others think of making the transcripts available?

I don't have any objections... on one hand it might be nice to put on the wiki page for the game.. but on the other hand is there really any value added (other than for HCA to use to count "circus shots" or others to go back to and say "told you so")?

Just a thought... would making the chats available after the game prevent people from expressing their true feelings during the chat?  It could potentially open them up for ridicule or embarassment on the board. ???

I vote no (not that this is really a vote) on archiving the chats.

I think that if there were any good points to talk about, they'd be put into a post on the main board and then we can discuss from there.  While there are a lot of good points made in the chat, I don't think any of them have enough context (b/c the game isn't over) to warrant much discussion.  Any point that is notable will most likely end up in a post anyway.

agreed, plus so many of the comments are related to what was just said on the broadcast, that they'd just be confusing when you look back.

Such as MacIlvaine's "Andy Dick head sighting," referring to one of the giant posterboard heads in the student section.  :D

While not an official poll, the sentiment seems to be that the chat should be treated as more "private" than the forum.  So, for now in order to experience the joy of chat, you'll just have to be there (I know...not possible for ticket holders).
