Word is from some in the Arkansas fold they are quite p'd as they felt they had a deal with BG's agent.

Ah, it's so fun to watch this time of year.  Now Arkansas' plan A is dead and do they have a plan B?

As predicted, BillyG is at the top of the heap.

Broyles looks like a foolish old coot.  Time to put on the full court press to get Kruger.

Wow! If that ends up being true, Arkansas looks extremely foolish. That's what you get for trusting an agent. Still, if they had an agreement and Gillespie and his agent used it as leverage after the fact, that's garbage. Regardless, I'm laughing a hearty laugh over it.

You live by the sword, you die by the sword.  Arkansas whacked a coach who took them to the NCAA's who was left with a mess to rebuild from.  Funny.  Kentucky gives a strong push to Tubby.  With TV money today, these coaches have more options to leverage where they are.  I don't feel sorry at all.

In my opinion, Arkansas should put the full court press on Mike Anderson.

He was a long-time assistant to Nolan Richardson at Arkansas, and won at UAB and will win at Mizzou. That would be a brilliant hire.

What about Winthrop's coach?  He's been growing a great program for the past few years now and I think he'd be ready for a step up into the SEC.

Since he turned down USF, and the Donovan to UK rumble continuing to gain traction...holding out for Florida? That's a big jump, but...

With the way Richardson's tenure ended, I'm not sure Arkansas would be going back to a Richardson protogee yet. Maybe in a few more years.
GO WARRIORS!

Mike Anderson has only been at Mizzou a year...He has been a big hit with the people and fans....Mizzou has among the best facilities in the country, pay is that $850k-$1m range...and will go up a lot if he wins once he can recruit....don't see him leaving Mizzou to go to Arkansas, even a few years down the road.

Express-News

COLLEGE STATION — At the end of another bizarre day in Texas A&M's quest to lock down basketball coach Billy Gillispie, school officials delayed an announcement of a new contract agreement after receiving indications from Gillispie that he wants to keep open his options for the most tantalizing of current job openings — Kentucky.

According to sources close to the situation, Gillispie late in the day balked at verbally agreeing to a new contract placed before the A&M board of regents for approval on Thursday. Under the new contract, Gillispie's base salary would jump from $1.25 million to around $1.6 million per year.

wonder if he gave A&M a verbal OK, then got a call from Kentucky. Whatever. He will wind up laughing all the way to the bank.
