Best ending to a fight ever.  Discuss

If I was 50 years younger, I would kick your ass.

That was some straight up Bull Sh!t. Mayweather is a punk that needs an A$$ whoping. My guess is there will be a rematch scheduled pretty soon and Ortiz rocks him. The way that fight ended was bad for the sport.

How about Mayweather going at the announcer at the end of the fight? What a tough guy getting in the face of an old man, garbage.
Bring back FFP!!!

Ortiz is the punk for trying to do a launching head butt in a boxing match.  There will be no rematch, mayweather fights once every 2 years, he'll be way back in the queue.  And Mayweather is a tough guy, he could beat the crap out of anyone in that arena last night

Ortiz lands one combination in 3+ rounds, goes with a weak-a$$ headbutt, gets laid out and there should be a rematch?!?    No.    Manny or stay home.

Ortiz got caught up in the heat of the moment.  It was at the end of a flurry of punches.  As anyone saw in the beginning of the fight and from the 24/7 eps he is very emotional guy and he was revved up.  He immediately knew he messed up, its not like he was standing toe to toe and did it or punched him in the crotch during a clutch.

As Lampley said it best after the fight, sure it may have been legal, but if Mayweather wants to be thought of as the best ever, he doesn't need to resort to that crap.  The first punch is one thing and would have been a Mayweather-esque "Don't f with me".  But the second punch as a dazed Ortiz looked to the ref, who was not even paying attention, was the epitome of bush league.  Mayweather's garbage post fight interview showed he knew he was sheisty.

This.  Sometimes I think I am the only person who loves Floyd.

Money is the man keeping me and most of America even mildly interested in boxing.  There are only one or two fights I would pay to have on in my living room, and they all involve him. Ergo, I'll always be rooting for him.

No doubt Money had it in the bag, Ortiz hadn't even landed one jab. It just sucked to see it end like that (and I was just watching online, if I had paid to see that I would be ticked. There were at least 3 rounds left had that all not happened). Meh, I just hope the Money v Manny fight happens. Now that would be a fair fight.

He was my favorite fighter for a long time.  I loved him when he was fighting De La Hoya and Hatton and his ridiculous brashness and outspoken nature just added to his image.  But he's gotten over the top and his dodging of Pacquiao is annoying.  He has become paranoid and thinks everyone is against him, probably cause he knows his arguments against fighting Manny are weak.  Last night was just the final straw.  Fight ending aside, him going after Larry Merchant was a joke.  Absolutely bush league.

Stop hugging and keep the f***ing gloves up.  Pretty simple.  Seriously, he hugged Mayweather TWICE!  Dude should get jacked.  It's boxing, you should probably be prepared at all times to get hit.  Like THIS:

And if there's a rematch, Mayweather will win again, he was well ahead before any of the "controversy."

swoopem

He was not well ahead, Ortiz was winning that round before the headbut and had also won a previous round. Sure Mayweather had landed more punches but 4 rounds out of 12 isnt all that much, some boxers like to get a feel for the fight and what their opponent is doing before they make their move. Plus Ortiz is the definition of "He's got a boxers chance". He has the power and showed that he could get inside of Mayweather's defense and actually land it.

This was far from over if they could have gotten through that round.

What a joke.

Was it a cheap shot? Yes.
Was it a legal shot? Yes.
Was Floyd going to win anyhow? Yes.
Is Floyd a punk who's running scared from Manny? YES!!!

I agree with most of this, the exception is the 3rd point.  We don't know for sure Floyd was going to win.  The 4th was definitely Ortiz's best round.  He started to get inside, seemed to be taking Floyd's shots pretty well.  I do think Floyd would have won, but I was thinking at the time that he(PBF) was going to be in a tougher fight than he expected.

Also "fair but firm" Joe Cortez, needs to retire.  He is as much to blame for this as Ortiz and Floyd
