MU has a losing series record against 10 of the 11 Big Ten schools.

OUCH

Name the one school MU has a winning series record against.

maxpower773

Northwestern....everyone has to have a winning record against them. And I want to know where you found this info cause i googled it, and google finds everything, but this apparently...so I'm just guessing here.

Head to head records are in the MU media guide.

We're actually 14-15 against Northwestern.

For the record, we've got a winning record against Univeristy of Chicago--I'd bet that those wins came when they were part of the Big 10.

We alsohave a winning record against Penn State, althought I'm not sure any of the wins came when PSU was part of the Big 10.

If you want better news, we have a winning record against 9 of the 12 SEC teams--all but Kentucky, Arkansas and Alabama.

ChicosBailBonds

Penn State it is...we're 3-2 against them.

I didn't include the University of Chicago because they no longer play in the conference (though academically they are considered a member).

maxpower773

Ah, yeah I wish I had a media guide/knew that it was in there.  And I never knew that about U of Chicago ever being in the big ten, interesting.

Chicago was kicked out when the conference discovered it was not offering a Phys Ed major or classes in History of Rock and Roll.

A U of C football player won the first Hiesman (SP) as a member of the big 10, and the original lyrics of "On Wisconsin" mention them:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On,_Wisconsin!

On, Wisconsin! On, Wisconsin!
Plunge right through that line!
Run the ball clear down the field, boys
[originally "Run the ball clear 'round Chicago"]
touchdown sure this time. (You rah rah)
On, Wisconsin! On, Wisconsin!
Fight on for her fame
Fight! Fellows! - fight, fight, fight!
We'll win this game.

On, Wisconsin! On, Wisconsin!
Stand up, Badgers, sing!
"Forward" is our driving spirit,
Loyal voices ring.
On, Wisconsin! On, Wisconsin!
Raise her glowing flame
Stand, Fellows, let us now
Salute her name!

you know, Max, even though Northwestern is a smaller school (enrollment) than Marquette, and the only private school in the big 10, and has incredibly high academic standards, I think they'd kick our ass.  (I watched them take uw deep into the second half before relinquishing their lead, and I believe they made a much better showing against msu).

With the hot and cold streaks the eagles saw this year, every game was up for grabs. I wasn't any more surprised when they lost to teams that had no business hanging with than I was to see them beat teams considered leaps and bounds better.
