Cottingham out as Marquette athletic director
               



Sources say Steve Cottingham, who had served as interim and later permanent athletic director at Marquette University since January 2007, is stepping down.

The article states that the athletic dept generated 22M in revenue. Did the school report the expenses as well?

Frankly, I never thought he was a strong enough presence. Buzz has turned into a golden hire, but that whole process made Cottingham look completely irrelevant.
