Jones was rumored to have aided in/paid for investigators in digging up dirt on the Fiesta Bowl finance scandals, and certainly he openly lobbied hard to have the Cotton Bowl, (now at his new facility) supplant Fiesta in the Big 4 BCS bowls. But today,  the Bcs decided to stick with Fiesta, and just fine them some $.
AZ wins over Big D.
I wonder if some the Jerry's Superbowl problems weighed in them not switching to the Cotton, and sticking with AZ. Worst run super bowl ever? maybe not, but in the top10, jerry, lol.

Actually, and embarrassingly, for us, the Vikings/Dolphins superbowl in Rice Stadium, Houston...may have been the worst.

Wiki notes....The Vikings complained about their practice facilities at a Houston high school, a 20-minute bus ride from their hotel. They said the locker room was cramped, uncarpeted, had no lockers, and that most of the shower heads didn't work. The practice field had no blocking sleds. "I don't think our players have seen anything like this since junior high school," said Vikings head coach Bud Grant.

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

I guess it would of been cool to say Marquette football played in the first of a bowl game that eventually became part of the BCS.

HouWarrior

yup.
Fiesta isnt nearly so storied a history.
ASU played FSU in the first fiesta, and ASU played in 5 of the first 7 fiesta bowls, which first began in just 1971.

Do NFL teams use blocking sleds at anytime outside of training camp any longer?

SaintPaulWarrior

If I had to pick one coach who would use blocking sleds the week of the Super Bowl it would have to be the very old school Bud Grant.

Agreed. Also, if Bud had his way, his team would have been in shirtsleeves, with no sideline warmers, and playing in frozen tundra...instead of the relatively balmy 50 degrees of Houston in superbowl VIII (although thats pretty cold, to us here--lol)
