Weren't we very close on both of these? Any news if either has decommitted as of yet now that Gary is gone. I would rather have Faust, but either one would be a good catch

Faust is decomitting and we were very close to getting him.

Not exactly. Faust was pretty much between Nova and Maryland. Breunig was on the radar, but I'm not sure Buzz offered.

That said, if I were Buzz I'd be making a call to Faust especially.

Nick and Juan Anderson got along well in Chicago several weeks back.
The portal is NOT closed.

I would love to get Faust, 6 foot 6 switchable

Who would you rather have?

Neither.  I don't want to run off Mayo for Faust, and make it two years in a row that MU runs off a spring commitment SG.  If Buzz wanted Breunig he would have offered him a scholarship.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Faust is 6 foot 6 I don't think Buzz would use him as SG

Sorry.  I guess that we'd be running off Juan Anderson then, my mistake.

sure he would ... Faust /is/ a SG.  huge range.

I guess Breunig, as our need for Faust seems to have lessened in the past couple months. But I'm not sure I'd really want either considering our scholarship situation. Is Breunig suited for playing down low? He seems more like a lengthy 3 than a 4 or 5.

I have a feeling that that was the MU staff's evaluation, as well.

Agreed, and Faust doesn't seem much different. Sure he's 6'6, but he's only 175 pounds. Playing in the Big East would wear him down way too quickly if he played 4 or 5.

We could really have a killer quad:

Leaving out transfers (i.e., Jamil), Todd, Juan, Derrick and Nick would be like Buzz's version of the Fantastic Four.
They could run the team for the rest of their careers at MU.

Faust would only play the 4 or 5 if Crean were coaching him.

Faust is a 2G.

Agree, no buzzcut needed....spot still available.

Faust is tight with the Maryland asst. who recruited him. Maybe that dude will be retained on staff.

If he is willing, you take Faust in a heartbeat, AND
you try to sign the best 4/5 you can find in 2012.

Does anyone honesty believe we are all done with transfers before Sept of 2012?  We have what we feel are 12 high major players and counting on scholarship this coming season.  And, some are not going to play many minutes.  I hope and pray for all returning players to actually return each season, but unfortunately that isn't always reality.

If Faust is not interested, I love the idea of Olu Ashaolu for 1 year and the best 4/5 you can find in 2012.

One thing I am sure of, Buzz will always keep recruiting.

Nice Chicos. A term loved by the UW board.

This is why your martyr act falls on deaf ears.

bamamarquettefan

Can you image in two years having a chisled 6-3 Taylor and a 6-6 Faust as our BACKCOURT just three years after Lazar had to play CENTER at 6-5.  Nothing against our short, fast line-ups, and not saying those two would start in two years by any means, but would LOVE to have the option of dwarfing an opponent in certain situations.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

Seriously. When I started reading MU message boards, i actually respected and agreed with the vast majority of your posts. For a few seasons now I've read a lot of your posts thinking, "we're all allowed to disagree on issues...this is just one of Chico's I'll look past"

Well thats done...you've managed somehow to go from a poster I respect to an absolute douche...Get over yourself

bilsu

Both Fergsuon and Taylor are unsigned committments for 2012. I would expect one of them to change their mine, if we get Faust.
