only a warrior

Bo's going over to Tom's house next weekend to watch the Sweet 16 with him.

ChicosBailBonds

He can join the other Big Ten coaches while he's at it.

No Big Ten teams in the Sweet 16 last year

One Big Ten team this year, and that was a gift miracle from the refs and Xavier to get OSU in there.

Wiscy out, ND out, Duke out....the weekend wasn't a total loss after all.

Not a total loss.  It was a Xavier free throw away from almost being pleasant.

A 2 seed playing virtually at home and he gets knocked out. Nice job, Bo.

my daughter tells me the huge UW contingent became "eerily silent" at the end of the game...which was greatly enjoyed by everyone else.

One thing I will give Bo is that before this he never lost to a lower seed in the tournament.  He at least won the games he was supposed to.  However, he's also never beaten a higher seed.

That said, the Badgers losing made my day.  I'm also no longer depressed about losing to MSU.

mutpm

While he had never lost to a seed worse than UW's, he's also never beaten a team in the top half of the draw.  He is 8-0 vs. teams seeded 9-16 and 0-6 vs. teams seeeded 1-8.   TC is 1-3 vs. teams seeded 9-16 and 3-1 vs. teams seeded 1-8.

Warriors Forever

Not questioning your facts but want more details. Who did the bagders play when in the ncaa 2000 tourney? All those teams where seeded 9-16? That really puts Bo's tenure at risk IMHO.

Bo started as head coach at UW in 2001-2002 season...

The other thing is, let's remember that when Bo was Crean's age, he was still raking up "impressive" wins in the DIII realms of college basketball...and would be for quite some time yet before he jumped to DI.

The Bo/Crean comparisons that the rodents try to throw at us are total junk, Crean, by the time he reaches Bo age will be a much, much more storied coach, no matter where his path takes him (no I'm not saying he's leaving).

1st Round-Fresno State (8)
2nd Round-Arizona (Without their best player) (1)
Regional Semis-LSU (5)
Regional Finals- Purdue (6)

Not nearly as cool as
1st Round HC
2nd Round Mizzou
Regional Semis-Pitt
Regional Finals-Kentucky

The similarities between Crean and Ryan end when they left their last assistant jobs.  Both were good recruiting, young, top assitants for Big Ten teams.  Crean turned that into a high profile head coaching job.  Ryan got caught giving a vehicle to a recruit and got reassigned to Platteville.

Bo Ryan...2 seed can't get out of first weekend.....should be fired

Um let me know when Bo goes to the NIT.  He has built up a little more equity (in the form of consistency) than others and can afford a clunker like Sunday's.

Bo's got maybe eight years left as a coach. TC will finish with 300 more Division I wins by the time he's done. And he won't be caught giving cars to recruits.
